Intro riff is mediocre. The album was good and I was entertained most of the time but I think it's safe to say that Magma is their weakest release.

Do want to hear.

I really dug Silvera, and Stranded grew on me after a bit.

This song is the best single. Album is really good. Different from what they've done, but Gojira in the core.

Been listening to the album for a while now and it rules. It's not what everyone wanted or expected, but it's cool so whatever.

Not a huge fan of it, but I'm pretty sure I'll end up liking it. Definitely my least favorite from them.

I have to give it a better listen because the only copy out there is crap quality.

Don't like how they're losing their edge. They're still heavy, but they seem to be getting more radio-friendly.

Signing with Road Runner might do that to you.

I think they've become more subtle in their attempts at making their bands more accessible (roadrunner I mean). Magma is clearly more radio-friendly but it's far from the complete shift in the approach that fear factory's digimortal or Machine Head's Burning red represented for these bands.

not bad, just lacking punch. after the tremolo stuff in the middle the song picks up but it's just a little too late

I just got The Way of All Flesh because I never listened to it. I guess I can treat that as if it's new and amazing. This album although, sounds like it will at least be decent.

Yeah, the album sounds a lot like CTS Mastodon at times.
That's not bad or anything, but the album as a whole is fairly uninteresting.

I love the atmosphere on this one, I'm trying to go into this album without expecting it to sound at all like Gojira usually does.

Riff was nice, but it was too prevalent throughout. Needed a nice switch up toward the end like Explosia last album!

I feel like if you youtube Gojira - live at Brixton and listen to any of those songs, it will make you a fan for life.

Specifically Flying Whales and Oroborus.

@Faraudo by "radio friendly" I meant that the songs are shorter, the riffs simpler, the vocals more melodic, less agressive and more frequently clean, and the guitars are lighter. It doesn't exactly mean radio-friendly.

"Magma's guilty of a lot of things, but radio friendly? Not at all."

This could easily be played on a station that plays "alt" music.

I don't know guys. this seriously isn't good in my opinion. not even a single "ok" riff. nothing remotely interesting going on instrumentally, really not much in terms of atmosphere either. Would go as far as to say that this fucking sucks.
