Damn, hard to believe Death Magnetic was released 8 years ago.
| |
i'm the table
| |
Finalfreakinlly!!!!!!
| |
"finished recording their ninth studio album"
I think it's their tenth LP.
| |
I heard it's the same guy who has mixed Death Magnetic. Not so stoked for this....
| |
HYPED
I swear to God if it sucks ass due to loudness war like DM was
| |
jesus christ
| |
YEEEAAAAAAAAAAAUH
| |
Hopefully there's no loudness war this time.
| |
idk why this is in my discussions but this is pretty cool news i guess
| |
they need to stop making music tbh
| |
Zzzz
| |
Niiiice
| |
Curious to see how is this going to turn out
| |
GIMME AN M

GIMME FUE GIMME FAI GIMME DABAJABAZA
| |
"Damn, hard to believe Death Magnetic was released 8 years ago."
Not to mention the "black" album, which is 25 years old! What. the. official. hell.
| |
Overkill released 17 studio albums, Metallica only released 10. What the actual fuck is taking them so long to release new material?
| |
loudness woaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrRRRRRRRRR
| |
who the hell asked for this
| |
band has forever been shit and overrated af and fanbase sucks
| |
lulu 2
| |
nah they were once the thrash kings mate
| |
Thank god the loudness war is over. That said, I was hyped until I gave Death Magnetic another spin and was reminded that they haven't been inspired since St. Anger.
| |
YEAH HEEEEAH UUUUUUUUUUH
| |
not sure how they can release an album after 8 years, i swear each of their songs is that long are they magicians or something ???
| |
"Hopefully there's no loudness war this time."
Producer: Rick Rubin, Greg Fidelman
Cheerio.
| |
NEWW METALLICAH ALBUUUUMMMMEAH
GONNA BE THE ALBUM OF THE YEEAARRREAAHHHH
| |
being 'thrash kings' isn't something to be proud of

| |
HYPE HYPE HYPE HYPE HYPEHYPEHYPEHYPEHYPEHYPEHYPEHYPEHYPEHYPEHYPEHYPEHYPEHYPEHYPEHYPEYH
| |
If Rubin's production, James' inability to write a decent lyric, Lars' sloppy drumming, and Kirk's wah pedal don't ruin the album per usual, they should call it quits immediately and act as if it's their comeback swansong.
| |
nobody cares at this point but i will be happy if it is as good as Death Magnetic
| |
It will be better than (insert favorite album of all time here)
| |
Rubin's mixing it? Why does anyone even let him near their studio?
| |
Rubin is certainly not what he once was but NEW METALLICEAAAAAAAHHHHHHH
| |
This has been the longest time between studio albums for Metallica, with Death Magnetic having been released eight years ago in 2008.
Lulu was only released 5 years ago
| |
As a producer, Rick has made phenomenal albums but as a mixer the dude has basically committed crimes against humanity
It's still funny how Muse have made fun of Rick's loudness war tendencies yet they have some of the worst produced/mixed albums I've heard
| |
Lulu wasn't a Metallica album, it was a collaboration.
| |
"GIMME FUE GIMME FAI GIMME DABAJABAZA"
idk why this made me laugh so hard
| |
"being 'thrash kings' isn't something to be proud of"
wow rly
| |
Lulu was mostly written by Reed, so if anything it's the last Lou Reed album. A sorry fact indeed.
| |
for real my man
| |
they need to stop making music tbh [2]
| |
"being 'thrash kings' isn't something to be proud of"
Uh. Thrash is awesome
| |
Band still kills it live. If this means a new tour then I'm good as long as it's tolerable.
| |
I'd be thrilled if we were living in the '80s...
| |
who replaces Lou Reed on dem sweet vox?
| |
This calls for a Metallica discog jam
| |
"I'd be thrilled if we were living in the '80s..."
Heading for the 90's, living in the wild wild west.
| |
Rick Rubin sucks. The motherfucker gets paid to sit his fat ass on a couch and give his opinion, which usually sucks. If anything, he has been slowly ruining the sound of a lot of good bands.
| |
This could be good. Idk, we'll see. Chances are it won't even come out this fall.
| |
FINALLY [9,545,835,449]
| |
absolutely no hope this will be good.
| |
Sure
| |
Fuck you dissenters. Bring on a new tour with a Dublin date!
| |
I really dont know how i feel about this
| |
please release a song called "being the table"
| |
I'm expecting this to be more or less the same quality as Death Magnetic
| |
im expecting them to do some "back to roots" bs but instead turns into a run of the mill thrash album that happens to have "Metallica" slapped on it
| |
i imagine it to be awful
| |
Finally! Death Magnetic was phenomenal and I think this next release will be the album that the band will always be remembered for
| |
Death Magnetic was a great album only massively hindered by the godawful production; but even then there's plenty of ways to listen to a far better sounding version of the album
| |
Death Magnetic was a great album only massively hindered by the godawful production [2]
Someone who knows of a link to the mp3s from the Guitar Hero: Metallica version of the album should let the rest of us know, as I've read that the versions for the game aren't hindered by compression or the loudness war.
| |
I think this next release will be the album that the band will always be remembered for [2]
| |
cool more shitty drumming
| |
"The band is currently mixing the new album"
hooray for loudness
| |
LOL! These guys are like 47! lol! They are old! Nobody wants to hear them! Maybe if they were djent they would be cool ROFL
| |
Always excited to hear new Metallica.
| |
ugh
| |
If Lords of Summer was any indication, this will be god awful.
| |
lol, nobody here fucking understands mastering or whose responsibility it actually is.
| |
My all time favourite band...here's hoping, at least
| |
i can't wait for every sentence to be actuated with a grunt-ah
| |
"LOL! These guys are like 47! lol!
More like in their 50's.
| |
Since they took so long to make it, I'm gonna download it to spite them lmao.
I really enjoyed Death Magnetic and the little B-Sides EP they released after so if it's like that, that would be pretty cool.
| |
Oh yeah, DownLOAAAAAAADAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!! m/
| |
I dont even really care brah
| |
"GIMME FUE GIMME FAI GIMME DABAJABAZA"
idk why this made me laugh so hard

I AM THE TABLE

| |
And I answer with a resounding "meh".
| |
Metallica + John Cale collab confirmed
| |
Metallica + Dick Black collab confirmed
I AM THE DICK
| |
Metallica + Dave Mustaine collab
| |
YAAAAAS and finally get a Mustaine/Hammett guitar duel. That should throw some healthy competition in the mix.
| |
Would it though? They both abuse minor pentatonic to the max
| |
Dave is at least still capable of writing decent solos. Hammett on the other hand hasn't written a good solo since the AJFA days.
| |
black album had some good, if simple solos
| |
They were good because almost every solo section on the Black Album is in half time or something, so pentatonic always sounds killer over that imo haha
| |
well, if it works it works
| |
The Unforgiven and Bleeding Me are like two of his best solos though.
| |
Yeah it works very well, no doubt about it.
