ok, I'll just try to be constructive here. Although I don't hate Nu-Metal as much as much as most. Bands like these (and even Ocean Grove to a lesser extent) sound more like half-assed metalcore rather than that quiet//loud dynamic that nu metal was kind of known for. If this is supposed to be the start of some sort of nu-metal revival consider me cringing to the point of spontaneously convulsing.

Yeah this is basically a bad metalcore band aping nu metal rather than actual nu metal.

The Guy in the background with the long dredlocks looks so ridiculous. I take it he is just the DJ guy, but i cant stop laughing at this. He is just dancing behind the singer and it looks so stupid.

Yeah this modern wave of metalcore bands trying to revive nu metal is more miss than hit. They seem to have missed the point of original nu metal which carried the quiet-loud dynamics and really cornered the whole idea of angst and catharsis in music. These modern bands have basically only ever seen the whiny/posturing/groove+DJ driven side of nu metal. Shit like Orgy and Crazy Town.

I mean I love nu metal with its odd dynamics, big hooks and bouncing riffs. But Sylar, King 810, Hasta La Muerte etc. have got the complete wrong end of the stick. The nu metal I like was more focussed on trying different things or being a heavy emotional outlet for the outcasts, not the jock-rock that emerged during its 2nd and 3rd waves (and what these guys are trying to copy).

This is nowhere near as bad as King 810, holy shit are you people listening to the same song I am?
This is pretty catchy metalcore with a nu-metal twist (the chorus is infectious)
King 810 is a hard chore to listen to.

^So this. I was more into 40 Below Summer, Static-X, Ill Nino..shit like that. All of the Korns, limp bizkits and linkin parks of the world never ended up resonating with me long-term
