Teen Suicide’s new album, It’s the Big Joyous Celebration, Let’s Stir the Honeypot is also, according to the band, their final record.
Fuck.
But "Alex" is great and this thing is fucking long which is also great and goddamn this is gonna be great.

holy fuggin shit
|
| |
soso pumped
|
| |
final record damn. these guys r cool
|
| |
What is it about their album "I will be my own hell..." with having a version that includes additional 8 songs but the normal one seems to have just 10 I don't get it because it doesn't seem like some deluxe edition or anything
|
| |
i liked the music video and the song was alright. definitely sounds like them. the production is just way too polished compared to what im used to hearing from these guys though.
|
| |
one of the worst things sam's done so far
|
| |
its really not any different from a lot of other stuff they put out. a big part of their sound was the lo-fi and when you take that away its more like average indie rock.
|
| |
well yeah but the production sounds like shit and the more polished version of their sound is kinda gross
|
| |
yep. i still kind of like it though, its still got Sam's signature "im not really trying that hard" singing and it still sounds kind of dreamy.
|
| |
it's nothing special stylistically but the songwriting is top notch
@lolifant: the bonus track version of the album is a reissued version from last year when the band first got signed and the other version is just the original from 2012
|
| |
i'd honestly rather just listen to some live recording of this song that's been on youtube forever
|
| |
ah ok thx
|
| |
"it's nothing special stylistically but the songwriting is top notch"
totally have to disagree with you. i dont think Sam's ever been a great songwriter, in fact i think a lot of what made Teen Suicide great was not deliberate. this song is just a simple pop vocal melody over chords with a really simple song structure.
|
| |
run for cover records claim another vicitm.
|
| |
damn this band just won't die, glad this is their final album, hope they go out with a bang
|
| |
this song is just a simple pop vocal melody over chords with a really simple song structure.
doesn't mean it's not a well written song.
|
| |
it just means its nothing special.
|
| |
fair enough if you feel that way but i think it is. personally dont think a song has to have very much to its melody and chords to be special. just an old punk rock mentality.
|
| |
yeah i get what you mean.
|
| |
listened to that one song by these guys n the dude was like "if you wanna kill yourself then i'll eat you out for 3 hours" and i decided effectively in that moment i never needed to listen to another emo band
|
| |
listened to one song and decided you didnt like the genre.
okay.
|
| |
think he just means that was the moment that turned him off the immaturity
about these guys specifically, they aren't as dumb as they used to be although they're still pretty dumb
also there's a possibility that sam is reading this as he's read sputnik stuff before so sam if yr reading this just wanna reiterate yr pretty fuckin dumb man
|
| |
look at his ratings. he has listened to more than one song.
|
| |
"sam if yr reading this just wanna reiterate yr pretty fuckin dumb man"
lol
|
| |
the 12% emo in my pie chart is from the single rating i gave to that teen suicide song
|
| |
awee yeee
|
| |
yasssssssss
|
| |
so fkin hyped
|
| |
shit is dope
|
| |
don't understand the complaints bout the production it sounds fine to me
|
| |
yeah its "good". thats the problem, Teen Suicide has always had shitty, lo-fi production and its a big part of why i liked them.
