Damn! Didn't know about either EP. Stoked to hear these as III was one of my favorite albums last year.

Do they still rip-off Krallice scales?

I don't think they're really that similar but Krallice formed the same year that Spectral Lore's II came out

the music here is all atmospheric fiddle faddle so it's totally different from Krallice.

I mean even their bm has a totally different aesthetic from anything Krallice has done imo

i mean you can't really rip off a band that just plays every note and calls it a song

I miss stirring the pot.

And yes girls, the leads sound like they were lifted from a Krallice record.

Nope, do some actual research.

Oh sorry, they actually formed in 2008, the year after II came out.

But again, they might have a similar riffing style at times but the aesthetic is totally different. I don't get the same vibe from them at all. Of course if anyone feels differently, that's fine~

hmm, i equate krallice with garbage like liturgy and deafheaven. perhaps i need to listen again. it just seemed like heavy post rock with crap ass vocals.

i equate spectral lore with enjoyable music.

there's nothing post-rocky about Krallice, d00d. Check their Years Past or their first album again.

Mick Barr has had the band around since 06 but never released anything until 08. My bad for getting all up in your grill.

Never said vibe, just meant a complete rip-off of Mick Barr leads.

It's cool, I was just going by the official formation date and the sources I read didn't really say much about the band before that. tbh Krallice has never really crossed my mind when listening to Spectral Lore because even though the lead work is very similar, both bands have unique songwriting styles that put them in separate worlds for me.

For the record Wiz I've read some of your reviews and seen you around the site and you seem like a pretty rad (if opinionated ;] ) dude, your Flourishing review made me check the band and they're stellar. Cheers!

Night and day different bands agreed. I just hear some of 'wank' that Krallice is known for and yet, the same haters of that band praise this.

But thanks jesterhead, I appreciate it! Tbqh, I like people grinding my gears, makes me have to work a little harder at my stated arguments and such. I'm damn opinionated but people who've known me a good long time around these parts know I'm a pretty friendly dude (except if you're dumb : p). Cheers!!!
