Such an amazing album with a great balance of melodic hooks, technicality and agression which are only enhanced by a perfect production.

Like I said in the thread for the last album, it sounds to me like it takes elements of Death, Gorguts, and Carcass and mixes them together. Really fantastic album.

Yeah this album is pretty sweet. They've evolved so much since The Chills.

I found their last two mediocre as fuck, but I did think ecdysis was a massive improvement over the chills. Don't know whether to check this or not.... :/

You have it backwards. The Chills was fun as hell. Ecdysis and this have lost that fun and turned towards their influences so much so that it feels like plagiarism. Normally I wouldn't care if a dm band did this but when you make an fun death n'roll album and then hump the shit out of Death, I'm going to fall asleep.

Yes they do! The leads are completely ripped from Chuck Schuldiner's dead hands.

Not a big fan of their stripped down sound either.

I don't think this is a complete Death ripoff at all bro. There's clearly a heavy influence, but I think they put their own twist on it tbh.

Very overrated imo but that isn't saying much since this site humps anything from Dark Descent/ Wiilowtip. 90% of their rosters are donkey shit minus some of the re-releases they've been doing.

That's why he's a wizard. Wizards are the jesters of fantasy worlds.
