I dig it. I have a feeling this will generate a lot of shit from the pretentious "it's not death metal, it's technical bologna black swirlie metal" kids around here though.
| |
They aren't kids, that's the sad part grown ass men arguing about metal.
| |
Bass is mixed perfectly. These guys, Decapitated and Nile are really the only "real death metal" bands that hold my interest these days. Song is good.
| |
OV: llama was just calling it as he sees it around here: metal fans taking metal way too seriously.
| |
almighty Flo
| |
sounds like a solid 2.5
| |
Not a fan of the vocals but the rest is pretty cool
| |
"OV: llama was just calling it as he sees it around here: metal fans taking metal way too seriously. "
If we can't we metal discussion on a music site, where else do you recommend us going?
"These guys, Decapitated and Nile are really the only "real death metal" bands that hold my interest these days"
Welp [2]
| |
Not bad
| |
This is actually solid as hell. Everyone was expecting this EP to be dick. 3.5-4 easily if the rest of the EP is as good.
| |
Oh no. I upset u
| |
"They aren't kids, that's the sad part grown ass men arguing about metal. "
u mean kill? lmao
| |
Seems like a decent continuation of s/t.
I'm not a big fan of post-Once Was Not Cryptopsy though. I'm sure these songs will rip live, songs from s/t were easier for me to appreciate when I saw them last year.
Nothing will top Slit Your Guts though.
| |
Rather eh song, probably eh/10
| |
Damn I'm actually liking this. Shit grooves really well. Half time drums always rule in dm
"technical bologna black swirlie metal"
lol
"u mean kill? lmao"
LOL
| |
"Half time drums always rule in dm"
this times a million
| |
man this rules m/
| |
Really enjoyed this. It's no None So Vile, but we're not gonna get another once so I'll take it for what it is m/
| |
Damn I dug that song way, way more than I was expecting to. Really good stuff.
| |
Drummer rockkks. Fuckin machine
| |
Awesome intro, song is meh. The vocals are holding it down a lot.
| |
fuck this vocalist
| |
I was just playing hahah. I think a 3.5 is the best this band can muster at this point.
They have a high water mark that is basically insurmountable.
| |
Yeah vocalist still isn't too great. This sounds way better than anything on the past 2 albums to me though tbh.
| |
vocalist sounds like a deathcore vocalist but I can get over it, he's passable imo. It's a little too vocally driven and senselessly technical at times, I think it could use some better riffage, but I liked the s/t and this seems like a step in the right direction.
| |
just like the last album, the music is decent but the vocals suck.
| |
My rule still works: the worse cryptopsys vocalist is the better the music is
| |
awesome song, dont even care about the vox at this point. im actually excited for this
| |
naw lord worm sucked. Rhythmically going ruh over and over in a monotone voice isn't exactly exciting, but they sure kicked ass when he was in the band. And they weren't bad with their next vocalist, and honestly he's not bad himself. And than they had their god awful release and the vocals weren't great but I'd say they were the best the band has had. Now this guy isn't that good but the music is pretty cool
Edit: lord worms vocals were always really airy so even when he does do something other than say ruh over and over like a moron it still doesn't sound that good.
| |
the final cover for this is creepy as fuck

| |
too much new breed in Matt's voice for me. the worst thing is that he tries to sound like Lord Worm on some parts, and fails miserably. music is ok I guess, nothing I'd listen to again tho.
| |
Not bad, glad these guys have fully dropped the deathcore label.
| |
God damn, this is really the direction that I hoped they wouldn't go in. Seems like they traded songwriting for wankery. Oh well.
| |
i dont see how its much different from their recent material
| |
Holy fuck that album cover. Gonna make sure I delete it from the ID tags of the mp3s lol
| |
Lord Worm did a lot more than go "ruh" over and over. Go actually listen to None So Vile, he mixed highs and deeper gutturals in all over the place.
| |
nahhhh
| |
Yikes
| |
Anthemic I'm actually a really big fan of none so vile and blasphemy made flesh, but he's easily the worst part of those releases. His lows are airy and sound and have no impact. His meds are also weak (although not as airy) and are monotone. They also have a tendency to be nothing but ruhs over and over. His highs are actually really cool but he doesn't use them that much.
Honestly I could take almost any random death metal vocalist and they would give a better performance.
| |
I disagree with that so hard.
| |
I disagree with that so hard. [2]
lord worm is a beast
| |
What? Death metal vocals aren't rocket science. Lord worm's performance suits none so vile perfectly.
| |
the only album lord worm sucked on was once was not. on NSV in particular he gave one of the best dm vocal performances ever i think
| |
I don't know what airy even means when you're talking about death metal vocals.
| |
The vocals are awful and the bic pen bass drums are ridiculously annoying, but it seems like a return to form instrumentally speaking.
| |
Poopass
| |
im pumped as fuck for this idec
| |
Same.
