They started as a pop-punk and then released a more alternative pop-punk album and then released two semi-"groundbreaking" alternative releases. Was there ever really a proper time to expect more out of a band whose front-man worships Morrissey?

this is decent. kinda wish the hook went in a different direction but it's got energy to it. a bit like a mix of deja and daisy but it's its own beast

Not revolutionary, but who cares? Even if their next album sounds like Nickleback banging each other next to a running chainsaw, recorded through a toaster - this band gave us Daisy and The Devil and God, and that's more (for me) than most bands have ever done.

yeah, i always keep my guitar tuned down half a step, so if the whole album is the same it'll be convenient

Song is good, not over the top but could be one of the minor tracks from Devil or one of the average from Deja... i think the new album will aim higher than this and Sputnik remains my favourite hater nest as always.

I like the song, not amazing but it's catchy. It will be interesting to see where they go from here in terms of a full album. This was a far cry from the feel of Daisy, but who knows what's in store.

I skipped them in SLC this year. I'm boycotting a show until they come out with a new album. I've seen them plenty of times and if there's nothing new being brought to the table, I don't feel any need to see them again.

tbh i think the hype for a new album has died since the band has basically dropped off the face of the earth musically

It was alright, but honestly nothing magical. Maybe I'd built my expectations too high, but Jesse had a really hard time hitting the higher ranges on songs like Degausser and You Won't Know, although his screams on Mene and Gasoline were frickin great.

They spent the first 3-4 songs doing B-Side and Daisy tracks, so the crowd was kinda out of it for the first 20 minutes and the energy never really came back. They played maybe 10 songs and an encore (Play Crack the Sky) then they were done.

I'm still happy I went, but like you said, I don't think I'll see them again unless I like the new album.

That's a lame way to start a set. I saw them a couple yeas ago and it was pretty much the same. The crowd was insane though.
