What happened to these guys...
|
| |
Is this even the same band lol
Caves or gtfo
|
| |
jesus christ, people still listen to this kind of music?
well i guess there's kids turning 13 every day
|
| |
^haha, yeah, or they're maturer than you. Some people come out the other side of self-reflection without shutting down.
"I only have myself to blame" - name me one lyric in this that is immature.
please reveal to me the immaturity in releasing passionate music about youth, specifically females, failing to love themselves which is an extremely real and burdensome truth to actually face
That being said, yeah, this is quite a change from their previous material, a lot more generic, a bit more adolescent. Good song though anyway.
|
| |
I thought it was pleasant, though it does pretty much nothing new. The cleans are nice.
|
| |
What in the holy hell happened to this band?? This seriously is cringe worthy..
|
| |
Yeah this is so much different than Caves, such a shame.
|
| |
ya rip in peace caves, but I'll definitely check whatever they put out, because I bet it'll still be above average metalcore
|
| |
those hand motions
|
| |
please do something different. I've gotten bored of this type of shit in less than a year.
|
| |
that vocalist is a charmer
Idk, on the one hand it's pretty generic but fuck it if I don't keep coming back because it's really catchy.
|
| |
Reshape Reason was pretty enjoyable. This on the other hand...
|
| |
"A lot more generic, a bit more adolescent"
It kinda sounds like you're calling it immature yourself. What do you mean by adolescent?
|
| |
I fucking knew this was gonna happen. Twas confirmed as soon as I saw the thumbnail for the damn video lol
Hard to believe this is the same band as on Caves, yikes....
|
| |
my metulcore band is called 37!73trite. our debut ep titled 'comforting muzacs 4 lonely prime numbers' shall be released in the not too distant near future. here are some of our lyrics, delivered in a testy bark http://www.ted.com/talks/harry_baker_a_love_poem_for_lonely_prime_numbers#
it should be noted that both 37 and 73 are sexy primes twice over
|
| |
sucks grandpa balls. boring as fuck
|
| |
As far as I'm aware, none of the members who worked on Caves are still in Elitist.
So, no not really it's not the same band.
|
| |
still sucks
and i bet they sucked even before
|
| |
"As far as I'm aware, none of the members who worked on Caves are still in Elitist."
Well there ya go. And nah flug Cves is actually pretty swee
|
| |
maybe for one who likes this style.
|
| |
It's absolutely nothing like this but yeah it is metalcore
|
| |
julian is still with them, he's the one who wrote 99% of of all the early stuff and probably still writes most of the new stuff
|
| |
Well he's just a silly guy
|
| |
lmao yup
|
| |
He's probably going through hard times or something
|
| |
reshape reason was pretty cool, so he might not have totally lost his touch...well maybe...
|
| |
I just don't get how they can go from Reshape Reason to this new stuff. It's confusing.
|
| |
I got really bummed out that this wasn't the Elitist that did Fear in a Handful of Dust.
|
| |
they need the cash.
|
| |
Don't have to be an elitist to know this is shit.
|
| |
THEEEEERRREEEE ISSS NO REASSSONNNNNN ONLLYY ISOLLLLLATTION
YEEEWWWW RR ALONE
|
| |
it's not too bad. above average metalcore. i'll jam it when i run or something but it's meh.
caves will forever be their best. reshape reason was pretty cool too.
|
| |
^ yep pretty much the same opinion as me when it comes to elitist
|
| |
i bought their new album just because i have a soft spot for them. i dont regret the purchase but it's defs not as good as caves.
still not half bad. i gave it a 3/5
|
| |
Reshape Reason was a great album but they went downhill fast
|
| |
"julian is still with them, he's the one who wrote 99% of of all the early stuff and probably still writes most of the new stuff"
After listening to Sean Hall's (other guitarist when Caves was released) solo work I would have to say this is very wrong.
|
| |
well i've been a fan of elitist since caves and imo sean wrote a lot of the solos and certain leads, but julian was the main song writer for everything else
|
| |
god damn this band did like 0 interviews for Caves wtf and I only found one or two for Earth, no mention of songwriting process.
|
| |
i remember talking to them at shows, and i think even seeing it in their comment sections after sean hall left
|
| |
Then how come Sean's style pretty much dominates that entire EP and it's funny how when they wanted to change their sound and then Sean leaves the band for his "tattoo career" and then puts out a string of solo albums in the same style so obviously he still wanted to play like that.
at 44 secs they talk about their change in sound
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rE3tHT6vnWw
|
| |
New album is so damn bad
|
| |
It's definitely no Caves, my right-angular friend.
|
| |
the problem i have with sean hall is all of his songs sound the same, whereas with caves the songs each sounded different, at least in my opinion.
|
| |
like if you listen to new elitist hoping for any resemblance of old, you're gonna have a bad time.
they should've just changed their name...
|
| |
^pre much
And yeah I just don't agree with the whole 99% thing. I think it was at least more of a half and half collab, Julian calming down Sean's chugz, stop start riffs, and what not. There was one thing I read where Sean said "Some things were disclosed, some things weren't" when speaking about his departure, his tone gave off the impression that it wasn't completely mutual or all on the greatest of terms. So I just think they had some differences in what they wanted from the bands sound.
|
| |
I don't dislike metalcore but its grown pretty damn stale
|
| |
