Cool thanks Voivod, been waiting to hear this... I know she gets some flak along with Relapse for her backstory but the song she released earlier was alright. Hopefully she lives up to the hype.

Pretty solid album, different than most and big points for being a solo effort. I really enjoyed listening to this.

I listened to the first few songs a few days ago and was really bored by them. Very crudely put together (not in a good way), clean vocals are too high in the mix, drumming sounds bad, not very interesting riffs.

...and that, folks, is how you get ratings variation.

So far I love this Latvian track but because of my love of all things Danish, black metal and women it should be no surprise.

Unique, solid album, but not particularly memorable. Definitely interested in what she does in the future.

well, whatever is the global opinion of her right now, this is her debut after all (right? i'm not sure), so she still can improve. hopefully her debut LP will be great!

Yeah but she's on Relapse Records, not some kinky-dink DIY label. It should sound more professional given the resources available, imo.

Zaruyache is right... the drums sound a bit off and with Relapse backing her it shouldn't sound so underproduced, however I get the sound she is going for. Overall, I enjoyed the EP and like many think she can improve by the time a full length comes out.

Why would having a bigger label backing you mean a better production. This is black metal, everything and anything about the production is more than likely intentional.

No, I get that it's black metal and the production was, like you said, more than likely intentional. Perhaps production was the wrong word, but with a bigger label you have more resources available for your sound. I just feel the drums kind of have that garage band sound that could have been fleshed out a bit more or perhaps been given an actual studio drummer treatment.

Good. Those Pitchfork streams are terrible and one of the reasons why I didn't (couldn't) listen to more than a few tracks before giving up. I'll at least give some of the other tracks a go via the new stream.

Pitchfork streams suck. You just hit play and can't back it up or restart it (without refreshing) and have no idea where in the song you are.

That, and they hardly ever load correctly. They're worse than Youtube vids when it comes to their buffer rate. Relistened to one of the last songs and it wasn't bad! This is probably a 2.8-3.2 ish.
