Mono to release double album

2014-09-03 by SputnikSweetheart | 9 Comments
Japanese post-rock band Mono will release two records on October 24th (EU) and 28th (NA).

The two albums are called The Last Dawn and Rays of Darkness, and will tell the different
sides of a story respectively. The band describes the albums as two different "entities"
that are however companion to one another. The two albums will be the first release since
"For My Parents" and the first under Pelagic Records.

Preorders are available through Temporary Residence ltd. (for North America) at:

http://shop.temporaryresidence.com/trr243

And through Pelagic Records for Europe:

Song's beautiful. I'll definitely check it out when it's released.

Checking out the song. Hope it's good. For My Parents didn't do much for me, but I love all of their previous albums.

Song sounds great, kind of a little unlike them, can't really put my finger on it, but it's great. So excited for the albums.

But Artuma, who else is releasing a double album soon?

@SaveYourBreath: I would guess Hammock.

Btw this is what Temporary Residence ltd has to say about the record on their webpage: "The Last Dawn is the first of these two companion albums, and is the "lighter" of the two, thematically and melodically. It contains undoubtedly some of MONO's strongest songs ever, drawing on an array of influences from minimalist film score to vintage shoegaze" and "The songs are also noticeably more efficient ... and the album benefits immeasurably from this streamlined approach"
and "Rays of Darkness is the first MONO album in 15 years to feature no orchestral instruments whatsoever."
