will probably be their best album yet. love the direction
| |
Sounds kinda like Alexisonfire. Nice song.
| |
Absolutely loved it. Really excited to see if they can pull this shift in sound off. So far so good.
| |
exclusively clean vocals? that's pretty interesting
this does sound pretty good though
| |
if this album is on par with the quality of "Hiding," this will be at least a 4.5
| |
Love this band
| |
"if this album is on par with the quality of "Hiding," this will be at least a 4.5" [2]
| |
Hiding was decent at best, but TLLA was fucking insanely good, and this sounds amazing. Excited.
| |
frackin awesomee!!!!!!
| |
I do like this a lot but still a bit conflicted on the change in direction
| |
this is sooooo dope. different but still great
| |
Band is eh
| |
I loved the last two albums but I found the new song to be really boring. I'll give the full album a listen when it comes out but my excitement has waned considerably.
| |
snooze fest
The Lack Long After is an all time favorite of mine.
| |
loved this
| |
I think i'm really gonna like this album
| |
pretty bland
| |
I really like this, I think the use of clean vocals is doing them a huge favor
| |
Pretty cool. I loved hiding. I'll be at their guitarists wedding next weekend. Funny how life works.
| |
dude you're pretty much famous
| |
That's what I said.
| |
clean vocals makes this band a snoozefest.
| |
I'm not really sure how I feel about the direction change. This almost reminds me of The National in a way, as far as the "largeness" of the sound goes. Guess I'll see what I think when the album comes out.
Also, since when did they sign to Epitaph?
| |
Fuck this is gorgeous.
| |
not sold yet on this track but I'm expecting something incredible after their last album
| |
Wow. Talk about completely abandoning your fan base.
| |
this is interesting. the thing they had going for them was the juxtaposition of post-rockish instrumentals with the skramz but this completely abandons the latter. most of the 68K fans on fb won't like this but we'll see how the lp turns out...
| |
*Talk about completely abandoning what made you good.
| |
"Wow. Talk about completely abandoning your fan base. "
As if they have some sort of responsibility to them and can't make the music they want to make?
| |
signed to epitaph today lol
| |
wut
| |
"there’s no screaming on the album at all."
....
| |
edit: just read that damn.
| |
titty salad
| |
absolutely loved this
| |
song sounds good, it could be more dynamic though, maybe some louder/more agressive parts to make the whole thing more interesting but I'm sure we'll hear that on the other songs
| |
Wondering why the second half of this was deleted. The band shared an article on their facebook stating that there would be only clean vocals.
Edit: Lack of citation, I'm assuming
| |
did not expect them to sign to epitaph but i guess its not actually that weird
| |
Pretty excited for it. The album name sucks though.
| |
can't deny that the lack of screaming on the WHOLE album sounds like a bad idea to me; seeing as TLLA is one of my favourite albums I doubt the new direction will do much for me but I look forward to seeing how it turns out
| |
FINALLY. I've been getting a little tired of their vocals lately. They're great, don't get me wrong. However, after awhile I was hoping for some sort of change. This is gorgeous. I'm really digging these vocals. It'd be awesome if they could throw in some screams here and there still, though.
| |
I don't know if it's just me that noticed from videos on YouTube of them playing live that Kyle seems to be getting breathless
quite easily when he's screaming, maybe that's why they've changed direction. I'm probably over thinking it though. Either
way, this is pretty cool
| |
shitty generic post-hardcore direction yeah
| |
but
we're not talking about your band
| |
I would never abandon my twinkles and screams and post-rock loveliness dude
| |
great song, excited for this
| |
i was waiting for some kind of sonic explosion especially after that national-esque opening riff, but it got all floaty on me
| |
Why has no one said anything about the lyrics? Holy shit they are my favorite part.
I do like the use of clean vocals, but I'm hoping they don't pull a hopesfall.
| |
sucks
| |
This excites me somewhat.
| |
wow deleted my comment. song put me to sleep, sorry.
| |
I seriously fell asleep pressing the "z" key on my keyboard because I listened to this
| |
not bad
won't touch tlla, that will probably end up being their magnum opus
| |
I heard a different new song live that had scramz. It was better than this though this is still good.
| |
I don't really care that they've abandoned their screams. If this song is any indication, this is gonna be one hell of an album.
| |
meh it's good i guess but nothing more
| |
To me Kyle's doing his thing best when he's screaming and yelling. I just don't feel like the singing keeps up with the quality of the instrumentation, which honestly also didn't grab me in like their other songs. Even after multiple repeats I wasn't feeling much from this, which is a bummer since the TLLA is probably the record I connect the most with on an emotional level. I'd love for the record to prove me wrong but if it follows suit with this song it doesn't look too promising for me at least.
| |
won't touch tlla, that will probably end up being their magnum opus
i'm not trying to be a dick with this but i am genuinely curious as to why you think that? we agree on things often but that album is just so-so to me. but i would really like to like it
| |
actually decided to listen to TLLA for the first time since it came out and god damn it's so good. i don't know why it didn't click before. shared bodies is the best shit they've done
| |
Great song.
| |
this is beautiful holy crap
| |
If the entire albums follows suit with this and Hiding, it will undoubtedly be amazing.
| |
Snoozefest [3]
| |
i like this song more every time i listen to it. all of the melodies are so well written
| |
Ehhh idk. I like it and don't like it at the same time.
| |
wasted aggression on the next four years
sounds like balance and composure sorta
| |
Agreed mixtape.
This has been stuck in my head all day
| |
Great direction for the band. I think it'll be a great album.
Seeing these guys in September with Circa Survive.
| |
listen to "ill get by" then this... and you will laugh. This song fucking blows
| |
i actually just did that and i didn't laugh at all
| |
there definitely is somewthing wrong with you if you laugh when playing i'll get by
| |
"i'm not trying to be a dick with this but i am genuinely curious as to why you think that? we agree on things often but that album is just so-so to me. but i would really like to like it"
i think you figured it out
for me it just came along at a very important time in my life, it was winter and i was dealing with the loss of my grandfather
| |
It's like core bands are actively trying to be boring lately
| |
there's like one kinda scream in there. good music is good music. who cares about screaming?
| |
The reason i like this whole screamo/hardcore genre is for its authentic raw emotion. Clean vocals in this case seem to be processed rather than raw.
I meant i laughed when comparing the two.
| |
I mean, there's a whole lot of emotion in that song.
| |
Song is fucking beautiful. I'll miss the screams, but goddamn this is so good.
| |
This band is going downhill and it makes me sad. This song isn't bad but is nowhere near TLLA.
| |
let's be honest they'll never come close to i'll get by again
| |
Am I the only one who wants them to return to their Old Pride sound?
| |
Song is really good, if there is some screaming and diversity on this record it could be sweet.
| |
"Am I the only one who wants them to return to their Old Pride sound?"
na i think old pride was their best aswell. this is good, but not as good as old pride. this feels somewhat lacklustre compared to that
| |
Kyle's voice sounds huge on this, I'm impressed.
| |
better than i was expecting after their teaser but trails off towards the end - agreed with most comments it wont be TLLA standard
still should be good if a little snoozy occasionally (but tbh both of their other albums feel a bit draggy at times when the song-writing seems to lose focus a bit)
hope it proves me wrong tho
| |
Absolutely love hiding. Glad to hear that their new album will be clean vox.
| |
