this is interesting. the thing they had going for them was the juxtaposition of post-rockish instrumentals with the skramz but this completely abandons the latter. most of the 68K fans on fb won't like this but we'll see how the lp turns out...

can't deny that the lack of screaming on the WHOLE album sounds like a bad idea to me; seeing as TLLA is one of my favourite albums I doubt the new direction will do much for me but I look forward to seeing how it turns out

FINALLY. I've been getting a little tired of their vocals lately. They're great, don't get me wrong. However, after awhile I was hoping for some sort of change. This is gorgeous. I'm really digging these vocals. It'd be awesome if they could throw in some screams here and there still, though.

I don't know if it's just me that noticed from videos on YouTube of them playing live that Kyle seems to be getting breathless

To me Kyle's doing his thing best when he's screaming and yelling. I just don't feel like the singing keeps up with the quality of the instrumentation, which honestly also didn't grab me in like their other songs. Even after multiple repeats I wasn't feeling much from this, which is a bummer since the TLLA is probably the record I connect the most with on an emotional level. I'd love for the record to prove me wrong but if it follows suit with this song it doesn't look too promising for me at least.

The reason i like this whole screamo/hardcore genre is for its authentic raw emotion. Clean vocals in this case seem to be processed rather than raw.

na i think old pride was their best aswell. this is good, but not as good as old pride. this feels somewhat lacklustre compared to that

Kyle's voice sounds huge on this, I'm impressed.

better than i was expecting after their teaser but trails off towards the end - agreed with most comments it wont be TLLA standard
still should be good if a little snoozy occasionally (but tbh both of their other albums feel a bit draggy at times when the song-writing seems to lose focus a bit)
