thought these guys broke up??
| |
reformed last year
| |
Band should've stayed dead.
| |
^^you shut your hole
| |
Super excited for this.
| |
Awww yeee
| |
Lol @ irony of Snauze's username, eh Calc?
| |
They were super good when I saw them live but they aren't relevant anymore so I don't see the point of releasing a new album.
| |
Good for them I guess.
| |
"they aren't relevant anymore so I don't see the point of releasing a new album."
This is true but I would listen anyway. SHTS kicks ass so it's interesting to see their actual follow up to that album.
| |
"they aren't relevant anymore so I don't see the point of releasing a new album."
this is some dumb logic lol, 99.9% of people/groups who release music aren't relevant. releasing music is what makes you relevant.
| |
↑ I think (s)he was saying they actually were relevant once and releasing new music now that they are not is a little too late but what the hell
| |
CHOO CHOO HYPE TRAIN
| |
"they aren't relevant anymore so I don't see the point of releasing a new album."
yeah so new bands that haven't ever released anything should give up now...
| |
No. That's not at all what I'm saying. The genre of music that Finch played a decade ago hasn't changed one bit in this entire time. It was basically a one hit wonder record and the margin of it's success was pretty slim. Throughout that whole time the band has reformed and broken up who knows how many times and the new music they have released has been lackluster. Unless they totally change their sound (which I highly doubt they are going to do) they are totally irrelevant and only the people who love the band for nostalgia are going to give a shit.
| |
I think they will still be relevant, they had an extremely well received tour and a lot of the current crop of bands have been influenced by Finch. Even if they released Say Hello to Sunshine Mk2 it would sit well within current releases
| |
No wayyy, mental
| |
that logic is still not very good, black sabbath released an album last year damn near 20 years after their last record and not only was it "relevant" it was well received. and correct me if I'm wrong but they didn't all of a sudden start playing jazz fusion.
| |
I'm sure people will appreciate a Finch release
| |
Agreed with Calc on this one. Plus, relevancy is not what makes a good record anyway.
| |
yeah who actually cares about relevancy
| |
I saw these guys like 6 years ago once and they covered Far. It was cool. That is all.
| |
In any case it will be interesting to see how the ideas of the band have changed in the 9 years since their last album.
| |
I am looking forward to seeing the results
| |
This whole relevancy convo is aggravating.
| |
Not popular? Not playing the currently hyped genre? Don't make music!
/s
| |
I give zero fucks about relevance but considering the statements lead me to believe this is just an attempted rehash of WIITB, right now down to the comeback tour of that album, I'm not getting my hopes up.
Sunshine was the tits though, make no mistake.
| |
the band was just starting to evolve when they quit
| |
should name their album Is... (Really) Dead
| |
almost ten years after the last album... this will be dissappointed nostalgia all over
