Skeptical. I like the cover, though.

"The Hunting Party"
the fuck
| |
I guess I'll check this out for old times sake
| |
haven't been relevant for so long it hurts
| |
Meh, these days the best thing about LP are the covers.
| |
eh news.
| |
Please let this be better than the last record. Enough with the electro crap.
| |
sweet LIVING things ruled
| |
cool covah
| |
These guys have shit on my heart too many times for me to be hopeful. I really don't care for most of the new stuff they have been releasing. A Thousand Suns was a really cool concept album and flowed really well despite lacking a lot of heaviness they used to trademark. I fucking hated Minutes To Midnight except for the song "Given Up" which made my dick explode with jizz. Living Things was unorganized and ridiculous. I don't mind bands experimenting but please at least do it well.
tl;dr: I'm bitching that I want the old Linkin Park back.
| |
Guilty All the Same was a return somewhat to the Linkin Park of old.
Also Daron from SOAD and the lead singer of Helmet have guest spots
| |
Last album was decent. Didn't like that track with Rakim though. At all.
| |
Another highlight is that Paige Hamilton of Helmet will lend his vocals to the song "All For Nothing."
well that's ruined that song then at least partially
| |
Mike took a completely anti-pop stance in that interview so maybe that'll be a good sign.
| |
but hybrid theory
| |
@unaMUSEd LP takes anti-pop stance, makes more pop music. go figure.
| |
Even if you don't like Linkin Park, you gotta respect them. They could've easily just kept releasing Hybrid Theory rehashes and been
guaranteed success, but they do what they want. That's really unheard of with most mainstream hard rock bands today.
| |
They do what makes them the most $$$
Fixed.
| |
Didn't care for the new song or Living Things and I probably won't care for this, but I'll still give it a go.
| |
I love that article haha
| |
Pretty cool album cover. I still need to check out living things... :/
| |
Digging the title of the article
| |
I can't feel the way I did before
| |
This...could be good. From Guilty All the Same, they seemed to go back to their old sound. Would love for them to go back to their roots, with Chester singing and Mike's rapping, but I'm not sure. HT and Meteora were sick, but the others just kind of fell flat. Hopefully this is good. Love the artwork too.
| |
Based on the first single, this sounds like the 3rd album that Linkin Park should have made.
| |
Also, the article title is great. I think we should all take a moment and appreciate that
| |
This will probs be average at best. But seeing them play Hybrid Theory at Download is going to be pretty sick.
| |
Someone wants to be Mastodon.
| |
"song on there sounded like flyleaf"
come on fti
| |
Imo Guilty All the Same is the best thing they've done in years, so I'm looking forward to this.
| |
Damn the art is pretty sick
| |
idk those arms are way too scrawny for any archer
| |
Artwork is gorgeous.
| |
YES!
| |
Band shits on my middle school nostalgia
| |
Artwork is kinda cool
Album name is shit suppose I'll give this one a chance
| |
has potential, Guilty All the Same has grown a lot on me
| |
album cover is phenomenal, hopefully the music follows suit
| |
meh
| |
Sounds pretty interesting.
| |
Love the album cover, like the single. I rated their last albums a 2 and 1.5 but I'm going in on this with good intentions.
| |
I liked everything Linkin Park has done and i can only have respect that they will never have one formula. I kinda like Guilty All the Same, the Rakim part is by far the best part of the song! As always I'm excited as fuck for what the album will sound like, just because it will be something completely different!
| |
Another album ??!! The first 4 albums came out in a gap of 3-4 years each . The last 3 came out in 2010/2012 and now the new one . Let's not forget the remixes came out a few months ago .
I wish LP put out the first 2 albums fast as the latest 3 ...
It's a shame. I used to love them back at 2000-2003 but now ? I just can't hear them .
| |
^ That statement made absolutely no sense at all whatsoever.
| |
From what he said in the interview I'm hoping this means it will be an overall heavy album, not necessarily a return to roots but more aggressive. as they said they're trying to get back to the sort of stuff they liked when they were 15 and Mike's grown tired of the indie scene.
| |
band is so shitty and irrelevant now it's not even funny
| |
Guilty All The Same is better than MTM and ATS combined
| |
Looking forward to it. Hopefully it won't blow. Artwork is pretty cool.
| |
nice cover. idk about the single, but I do have hopes. linkin park is better than a lot of people give them credit for
| |
lol fucking rakim and linkin park what is the world coming to
| |
linkin park is better than a lot of people give them credit for [2]
| |
Didn't like the single at first, but it grew on me a lot. Definitely hope the album has a lot more to offer than that, but still, artwork is sick and I'm eagerly anticipating this, even if I'm ready for my hopes to be completely dashed cause they probably will be.
| |
"This isn't Botch, this isn't Meshuggah"
lolololol no shit Mike
| |
This is actually pretty good! The most complex music Linkin Park has displayed so far.
| |
not even close actually :-/
| |
Not the most technically able band, but they Chester as their vocalist, so....
| |
linkin park is better than a lot of people give them credit for [3]
not to say they're amazing, but they haven't put out anything i'd consider bad. My gut tells me this'll be better than living things
| |
Hopefully
| |
Living Things was a great record, just didn't hold up consistantly toward the end of it.
| |
^ Yes. Tinfoil/Powerless was a beautiful and powerful closer, though.
linkin park is better than a lot of people give them credit for [4]
I don't think that they released a truly bad album, except for Minutes to Midnight (which was still more mediocre than bad). I love everything else. Have high hopes for this.
| |
ATS still sucks, even if the Catalyst is a great song.
| |
"ATS still sucks, even if the Catalyst Blackout is a great song."
| |
Blackout didn't do anything for me. Sorry Green.
| |
All albums rule
| |
I actually think that ATS is an amazing record. It took me 1 year to fully get into it, though (and no, it doesn't mean it's shitty - it took me 2 years to fully apreciate TDAGARIM). It flows just lovely, and I adore the concept. It's the kind of record that should be listened to from start to finish. It really packs emotional punches.
I find it funny when people say that they do whatever brings them the most cash. If it was true, they would only release rehashes of Hybrid Theory. Instead, they experiment a lot. No wonder their fandom is so broken - they change a lot.
Maybe I'm biased, cause I'm much closer to "all albums rule in their own right" than hating on any of them (even if MTM is my least favourite one, it still has some good songs and was an important step for the band in searching their own identity).
I don't get the hate towards Linkin Park and never will. I've got a lot of respect for them, especially since a lot of their songs read as post-abuse narratives. If it's right to hate them, than I'd rather be wrong.
