just repost what I said yesterday:

band just announced a new album coming out this year, although my excitement level is down like, at least 40% since they said this particular album (Say Hello To Sunshine) is "out of their systems"

ohmygodohmygodohmygodsoexcited

but, hey, calc, where did you hear them say that? That upsets me, too, if so, as Say Hello To Sunshine is one of my alltime favorite albums.

^^^ R2K said it in an interview, he said it was an album they had to make to prove they could do it and he's glad they got it out of their systems. They like the "energy" of their early stuff.

What it is to Burn is fuckin' lame except for the two Palumbo songs, but Sunshine is amazing. They said Sunshine's now out of their systems, which to me translates to "we realised the first one sold a shit ton more", so this is probably gonna be hella disappointing.

Sunshine was never as nostalgia filled as WIITB, but the Daylight EP was good.

Not expecting much from this but it'd be cool to have them come back swinging.

well they already almost finished making an album when they last split up, and there are demos online of the whole album, as well as an EP of two finished songs. i really liked those songs and demos so im hoping and assuming that the album is just going to be a release of what they already recorded from those times. doubt they will have had time to make an entirely new album anyway so im stoked.

This better not be WIITB 2. That album is such mediocre uninspired garbage. On the other hand, Say Hello to Sunshine is such a great album. They managed to create something that was unique and attention grabbing despite the fact that no member of the band is an extremely skilled musician. I don't need SHTS 2. I'm sure that the band has outgrown a lot of the aggression that was on the album, and and attempt to recreate the magic on that album would probably come off as forced. I just hope that they will continue to go in an experimental direction.

Pretty stoked but if they go in a more WIITB direction like they're hinting at, it won't be all that great.
