Full heavy djent only works when you get the atmosphere right, or else it just sounds like bare bones slow, lazy riffing. This is basically Periphery with awfully layered death metal vocals--which is to say, it's really boring and laughable.

fun fact: Alex Wade uploaded the guitar track for this somewhere in 2011, it's called "8 String Groove". It's sitting on my iTunes and came on shuffle the other day~ so really, the riff they're using is a two year old one that didn't make the cut for the s/t. Groovy it is tho.

Lol at people saying New Era was good, that was them going full djent and failing pretty hard. Last album was a step in the
right direction and the new drummer killed it. Although this isn't perfect it's still more interesting than anything from New Era.
People on this site are far too concerned with being seen as troo metal. There are far far worse bands out there than these
guys.

It was good, but Chino really made it so. And I will give credit to Devolver. Song is a great example of that sound done right.

I just find the rest of the album to be so boring. Even Phill sounds boring to listen to on New Era and he is a beast.
Bits here and there show up that are good but it's mostly kind of lame. Self titled has make it bleed, one of their best songs
ever and the drumming is tight as fuck. No more blasting over slow slow to mid speed chugging like on "darkest day of man"
