never really saw the appeal in these guys
| |
dammit did not see this coming at all
rip
| |
:{
| |
I did not post in here why does my damn thing say I did dammit
| |
Honestly, Cities was the only thing by them I really thought was phenomenal
| |
listen to Vital man
| |
wtf noooooooo. rip
| |
Awww damn I don't approve
| |
Vital was very enjoyable, but Cities blows it out of the water easily
| |
why did this have to happen????
| |
I was having a somewhat good day until this
| |
This is not cool. Yeah, Cities was my favorite from them, but they were always really consistent and really passionate. Great dudes. This sucks.
| |
It's like being dumped all over again.
My heart has been dismantled and will never be repaired.
| |
Let's hope they end with a bang
| |
Anberlin has been my favorite band (along with Alice in Chains; I suppose the #1 spot depends on my mood) for about five years now. Can't believe this. I'm going to miss them tremendously.
| |
Dis be bad. Very sad.
| |
WHOS GONNA CALL ON SUNDAY MORNING
| |
Damn, right after releasing such an incredible album like Vital. Hopefully their final album will be a proper sendoff. Still a bummer, though.
| |
bummer. I saw them open for Smashing Pumpkins and they ruled, been meaning to check their studio work for like 18 months haha
| |
definitely start with cities
but you didn't need me to tell you that
jamming cities right now in honor of these guys
| |
Cities has like 4 great songs, everything else by this band is a snoozefest to me
| |
WHOS GONNA DRIVE YOU HOME
| |
its time
| |
This is bullshit but I know they'll continue with other projects.
It's interesting how they're going back to tooth and nail and hopefully that will mean better promotion than they got with Vital. At the same time, T&N kinda hit a rough patch last year.
| |
dang
| |
Anchor and Braille tho
| |
@Yoyo, don't start with Cities, start from the beginning or Never Take Friendship Personal. You'll be able to apprechiate the growth of the band more.
This sucks but at the same time doesn't as much because this is how great bands like them are supposed to go. Hope I get a chance to catch them on their final tour in Germany or the States when I'm there.
I guess that also means that Carrollhood might get more active in 2015, at least some sort of a silver lining about this.
| |
vital was tripe good timing fellas
| |
they're choosing Warped Tour as their last hurrah? They can play like one song per album wtf
| |
In before toxin and lakes. Can't say I'm surprised by this but I didn't expect it either after the positive response to Vital. I hope the last album is their best but likely won't ever top Cities.
Dudes were always cool and genuine. Hope to see more from anchor & Braille, carrollhood, and maybe acceptance.
| |
I'm so bummed.
| |
ugh first thursday then thrice and now this, bye bye adolescence
| |
inb4 toxin
But yeah this sucks
| |
As much as this signals the end of an incredibly solid band over the years, I think pretty much everyone agrees they peaked at cities and everything else was a small, if steady decline from there on.
Part of me is at peace with them ending the band before they become Oldberlin and pull an Offspring on us.
| |
Guess this is a good time to check these guys out.
| |
you need to edit this article asap - vans warped tour is NOT their final tour
| |
done
| |
Vital was as strong as Cities in my book and man NTFP is right up there.
| |
Damn, RIP. Will jam forever though.
| |
Lame, gonna have to go see them when they come to Charlotte.
| |
oh yay vans warped tour won't be their last show
| |
Vital and Cities are both amazing records, and it sucks to see these guys go - even if they weren't part of my adolescence.
Here's hoping they go with a bang.
| |
amberlin
| |
new york city please
| |
A very interesting and overall great career comes to a logical close. I'll miss the shit out of them
| |
Well this sucks...been listening for about 7 years now and I always thought they were above average for the type of music they played. They may have been spiralling downwards since Cities, but they've always been pretty decent.
| |
new york city please [2]
hey green let's go together
| |
you're a creep
| |
no i'm a weirdo
| |
BtMI's final show is on Sunday in Brooklyn
| |
what the hell are you doing here
| |
i don't know rowan i don't know
EDIT: oh radiohead reference I see how it is
| |
Lol I knew you'd get there green
| |
Just remembered how much NTFP meant to me as a teenager. Band was integral in my life growing up
| |
dang, pretty sad. at least they're doing one more LP.
| |
Feel Good Drag was my jam in 2010
then I explored their better songs
| |
I put A Whisper and a Clamor on repeat when I played NHL 08 back in the day.
| |

Hockey > Football

| |
Football > Hockey
| |
These guys had a great career and are ending it the right way. Definitely gotta see them live again and can't wait for their final album.
| |
WHAT THE FUCK
| |
What a horrible piece of news to come home to.
| |
69 comments and no tox
man you slacking smh
no but srsly never been much of a fan but they seemed to be in good state from what i recall from their latest album, so sad to hear for the fans. Hopefully the tour is good.
| |
I think toxin might have killed himself.
| |
Their last show in Sydney, nothing will stop me going. I've loved this band for so many years. Really shocked and sad that they're calling a day, but an amazing career for a fantastic band.
| |
i cri wtf is dis shit
| |
Long, solid career. On to other things. Good for them.
| |
Never liked them.
| |
No big loss here.
| |
This is bullnads
| |
They were good for sure, but I don't think they were nearly as amazing as some claimed
| |
I mean, unless you think Presbyterian Church members writing pop-punk and/or alternative rock bullshit
with 'touching' lyrics and freaky cool melodic lines of music is the neatest thing on this
planet since a dildo stuffed with ricotta cheese.
| |
I wonder if some people ARE actually into ricotta-stuffed dildos. I hope not.
| |
She likes the feeling of being full afterwards.
| |
Now, that's just silly someguest. You jokester, you.
| |
whta the balls
| |
Anberlin is (was?) okay. Some decent songs, but like a lot of their contemporaries, they don't really impress me in any way.
| |
I did not post in here why does my damn thing say I did dammit
Cause you were caught listening to poo : p.
| |
Another sad day for sputnik :[
Just kidding, Opeth are still alive and kicking :D
| |
hopefully some good UK dates
| |
OP said it. not a great loss.
| |
Most of you have probably only heard one or two songs and judged them by that.
| |
stfu
| |
Good band. Solid tunes.
| |
:-(
like many have said, i jammed my ass off to Blueprints / ntfp when I was 15/16 (24 now) - great memories with this band
| |
Not a fan, but rip
| |
Band is catchy as fuck, and Cities and Vital are great.
Hopefully the come by where I live.
| |
"Most of you have probably only heard one or two songs and judged them by that."
I used to have a copy of Vital and New Surrender, and from listening to those and a good amount of Cities online, to me they
were just a solid alternative rock band, nothing more and nothing less
| |
Bummer. Great band.
| |
fuck. I never understood announcing a split. if its amicable, why not just take a few years break to pursue other projects? no sense in saying its the last time when 9/10 times its just a "hiatus".
| |
El *fin of a great band.
| |
I doubt this will be a hiatus. This could possibly be the end of them, forever.
| |
Why everyone of my favorite bands break up progressively?
The Human Abstract, Thrice, Thursday now Anberlin. I'm afraid to hear Protest the Hero next or smth.
| |
I JUST WANT ONE MORE CHANCE
TO PUT MY ARMS IN FRAGILE HANDS
| |
I THOUGHT YOU SAID FOREVER
OVER AND OVER
A SLEEPLESS NIGHT BECOMES
BITTER OBLIVION
| |
bye bye
| |
I'm actually pretty saddened by this...
| |
I'm not too upset, I think their best days are behind them and they've had one hell of a run. I'd always rather see a band quit while they're ahead. My only hope is that they send themselves out in epic fashion with an amazing final album.
| |
agreed
| |
That final album better be mind-blowingly amazing.
| |
Vital didn't do that much for me, but on the other hand Cities is a great record. Anyway, if they release something before splitting, I hope it reaches the quality level of Cities, if not better.
| |
I just hope that the album doesn't come off as forced, since they feel they need to release an album. Vital was released only 16 months ago (not to mention Devotion with its three new songs was released 4 months ago), so there's definitely some lingering doubt on my part.
On the other hand, they've proved that they're consistently good, with just minor dips in quality on a few albums, so maybe I should just hope for the best
| |
They make breaking up look so easy. Seems like they've done this before
| |
They've accomplished a lot though
| |
@nash1311 eheheheheheeee

| |
If it's not the best album ever then fuck these guys fucking turds
| |
^ hahaha man Vital was preeeeetty good.
| |
Damn you double post.
| |
Vital was good but what about their last one? I doubt they'll top it especially since they just got off of Devotion + Vital
| |
This makes me so sad...
| |
FUCK
| |
I know how you feel Toxin I'm like their biggest fan
| |
stop reminding me of this =(
| |
I can't I'm too excited. Going to see them at least three times this year.
| |
this is like the worst news ever, i mean not really they'll have like 7 albums after their last one but still, damn
| |
There is also Anchor and Braiile and who else?
| |
they ended too soon
| |
