That's pretty sad, considering his ability. Dude did seem like a bit of a cunt though when it came to interviews, so this may be justified.

I doubt it'll affect too much of the band's signature sound in the next LP however. This is only one of the three fucking percussionists, so I can bet almost everything will feel more or less familiar in the long run.

@weeji Considering their album came out not too long ago, it's kinda safe to assume they'd tour in support of it and then release another one in a year to three years like a normal band would.

Regardless, never backed this band that much. I got into other kinds of metal before I heard these guys, and they never fully clicked. Kinda sad to watch them dissolve like this, just for the diehard fans that get heartbroken at news like this. But I don't see a whole lot changing their sound due to this.

I liked these dudes a lot way back when, and embarrassing as it may be to say it now, Joey was one of the reasons I started playing drums. Like Fish said, I'm pretty curious as to what this is about, because as much as these guys hate each other they've stayed intact for years.

I'm actually looking forward to Slipknot's next album. If anything the new Stone Sour records showed that there is still some promise with a couple of members. So why not expect something half way decent?

Though I will say, Stone Sour's albums are better left on the album than brought out as singles in a show. Their live show didn't impress me much.

Find an equally competent drummer (shouldn't be hard) and give them Joey's mask; it's not really that big of a deal in my opinion.
