Spencer's vocals are piss-poor, the song-writing isn't that great, they try too hard to be funny and are not at all, and the songs are just plain boring. The first album had some good tracks but were ruined by Spencer which is why the instrumental's are the only thing I like. Matt is the only thing I really like out of Periphery.

Will probably mostly be shit with some cool parts.

Misha and Nolly's songs sound cool but you can never underestimate Spencer's ability to shit all over everything

I'll be the first to admit that Spencer's vocals were the hardest thing for me to get over in the beginning. Especially the clean vocals. On the border of being too whiney...still my least favorite part of the music, but there is WAY worse vocals out there that get applauded as being great.
As far as the music goes, I dont see anything wrong with it. Especially drums. Matt kicks balls.

Nope, but Spencer gets a LOT of shit from fans and non-fans of this band. The most I've probably seen before and I have no idea how anyone thinks he's good. His cleans are incredibly whiny and pitchy. His harsh vocals are still really bad albeit, they have improved but he's got a looooong way to go.

I really don't agree with this. I get that he rubs a lot of people the wrong way, but he's not hard to defend, the guy is a damn good vocalist whether you like him or not. His vocal material is by no means easy to pull off and he does it damn near perfectly. I've seen them live and he hit almost every note flawlessly. People can hate his voice all they want but to say he's a BAD vocalist is just dumb.

Be objective, I'm not a huge fan of his voice and I can still say his pitch is excellent, his range is really well controlled, he's an entertaining frontman, and his scream technique is awesome. Spencer is a good vocalist.

It's a cool concept for all the band members to make their own song. It'll be interesting to see how each member expresses their own ideas individually instead of as a whole. Matt's clip sounded pretty cool. I'm sure this will be decent and the fact that this is not going to stop Juggernaut from being released makes me ecstatic.

The song makes me think of the Kurt Vonnegut short story "Harrison Bergeron", which presents a world where absolutely social equality is enforced by crippling those with special abilities so they are at the same level as the lowest common denominator. It's essentially a clever retelling of the "tall poppy syndrome", where people want to cut people with more money, talent, better looks, or whatever, down to size. I'm not sure if at the end the maples have arranged to have the oaks literally cut down to size, or if the maples' agitations have led to the whole forest being clear cut, but either way it's a clever jibe at those who nurse resentments and want to bring down those above them in some way.
