Didn't like it at all. Reminds me a lot of Souvenirs d'un autre Monde, which is by far his worst
album. It seems like Neige sometimes forgets how to make these more "beautiful" songs do anything
interesting. He writes a brilliant track like "Autre Temps" and then does this.

What you are all failing to realize is that the leader of the band has specifically said that this album will have NO METAL in it.

So you can stop calling it metal for queens or whatewverthefuck. It aint metal.

Pure new age/shoegaze.

Neo-newgaze.

there's some really pretty ideas here but the song is kind of lifeless, the drums are so low in the mix and the rhythm guitar is like, completely non existent

this isn't looking good for the album...

since typing that i've now seen that they have used the same producer as sigur ros for this. makes sense. really excited for the album now.

I saw them a couple months ago with Anathema and they killed it, however the power of most of their other material dwarf this into complete oblivion. It's too repetitive. That said, I still like it.

@redskyformiles

Does Shelter contain any more immersive songs like 'Deliverance'? I really didnt take to 'Opale' and was hoping it wasnt reflective of the new album.

All of the songs are rather "bright". It's an even split between more meandering numbers that sound like more upbeat, more flushed out versions of their last record and more pop-oriented tracks. The production is always thick and warm and the record takes them even further away from anything resembling black metal influence.
