Legendary singer Janis Joplin finally received her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame 43
years after her untimely death, yesterday November 4, 2013. Her siblings Michael and Laura
accepted the star on their sister's behalf, the 2,510th on Hollywood’s Walk of Fame.

Janis Joplin officially began her career with the release of Big Brother & the Holding
Company
in 1967. She went on to record a number of other successful albums including
Cheap Thrills, I Got Dem Ol' Kozmic Blues Again Mama! and Pearl while
also appearing at the Woodstock Festival in 1969.

Janis Joplin died on October 4, 1970 as a result of a heroin overdose.

Hey, good for her. Quite frankly, I'm surprised her name wasn't on the walk already.
