I don't know why people are hating on this so much. I'm kind of a cover-art snob (honestly, I stray away from albums with poor cover-art) and I think this is pretty cool. It's not very Rosetta-esque, sure. But it's not bad either.

It seems like they're really changing things up, which I'm excited for. If they keep with the post-metal gig I can imagine they'll start sounding pretty stale.
