New Arctic Monkeys single

2013-06-19 by SgtPepper EMERITUS | 53 Comments
Arctic Monkeys have released a studio version of "Do I Wanna Know?", the first song to be revealed from their as of
yet unnamed 5th album. The song was first performed last month at the Majestic Ventura Theatre in Los Angeles,
during the band's lastest tour of North America.

The band have also debuted another song recently, this one being "Mad Sounds", which was first played at
Hultsfred Festival in Sweden last week. News regarding the released date, content, and title of their upcoming
album still remain as nothing more than speculations and rumours, but word has it that frontman Alex Turner
stated that the album may come out this September. Only time will tell.

They sound like The Black Keys a bit here to me (Attack & Release/Brothers era).

Sounds amazing like usual.

Band can do no wrong even though their last one was probably their weakest...

Eh, just seems like a good continuation from Suck It And See to me. As long as Alex keeps on providing vocals, they'll always sound like Arctic Monkeys to me, no matter the musical style.

ugh, sounds like a slowed down verison of RU Mine (which I love) with a worse melody and some pretty cringeworthy lyrics

absolutely love this band despite alex's posing but this is disappointing

I think it sounds great. It's catchy, with a bit of a dark twist to it, and overall catchy. I for one am looking forward to this album, especially since they said they were recording it in the Desert again like Humbug. I've liked everything they've done so far (except for half of Suck It And See).

Strange, I'm thinking that Suck It And See might be their second-best.

Yes because they have insisted on sucking massive dick for two albums now, so it's safe to say that they are never coming back. Optimism.. Mehr

I like the direction they are going in, as song writers they have matured.

Although, I do admit I prefer their more brash/bratty attitude on the older records.

humbug was incredibly lame apart from cornerstone and my propeller but i actually thought suck it and see had some of their best songwriting despite the more generic sound

it had its moments for sure, but to me it sounded like a bunch of kids trying to be mature and heavy
and it not really suiting them at all

The psychedelic rock sound of Humbug was the reason the I got into them, and I think it's their best yet-- but to each his own really. I like every album, they've done, and I admire them for changing their game in every release. SIAS wasnt my favourite, but the b-sides were all good and they've kept saying that this album would be in that heavier style so I'm still optimistic.

To be honest, it loses appeal to me with each listen. "All My Own Stunts", "Hellcat", and "That's where youre wrong" are the only
songs I like from it now.

Drums are far too loud in the mix of this song, over powers the vocals and guitars. Aside from that its pretty ace.
