The song is pretty good, feels a bit weak, but enjoyable. Might feel a bit better in the context of the album. The mixing, though, feels pretty severely off as compared to Sound Awake. Oh well, I guess we'll see.

This is pretty awesome, but I kind of wish I hadn't listened to those shitty live recordings over the last year, it would seem a lot fresher then. I remember hearing the live recording the first time and thinking, "holy shit, this is insane!". In any case, one would hope this isn't on the record mainly for its predictable use of down tuned guitars and the relative lack of progression from Sound Awake. Let's face it, Set Fire To The Hive was more cutting edge than this. Cool track though

It's definitely not awful. I even thought some of the song writing was genuinely interesting. They clearly decided they needed a big rocker like SetFire to the Hive as their opening single again. I'm sure the rest will be different (just like Hive had nothing much in common with the rest of Sound Awake)

Listen again! It is just doesn't sound right. The mids are like fighting against each other. The bass and drums are at the background and don't mix well, and the extra 'sounds' just don't fit. I don't know, compared to the production of Sound Awake it is just not good... if this is the kind of sound they are going I just don't think it suits their style! But yeah, the other songs they have played live are certainly different (and better), so there is still hope

The sound is terrible. The track is excellent, it's just brickline compressed to become paper thin. No impact to any of the percussion. Shockingly fatiguing.

I need to listen to Shrine of New Generation Slaves to wash out the poor mastering...

Wait, I eat my words - I just downloaded the track and it sounds much better in iTunes. The mastering is actually quite
reasonable, it certainly hasn't been brickwalled. The mids are definitely fighting though and the drums are just blunt
impact. Other than that, I think it's probably just the low file size on the stream that makes it sound like shit. 128kbps
can't handle stuff with more than three instruments and a vocal.

I really see no reason for me to pay any attention to this. The track may be on the next album, maybe not, and
either way the album will be much higher quality than this. I'll just wait until then.
