Just bought it, fuck yeahhhhhhhhhh
| |
if i had a nickel for every time this band opened for a show that i was going to but i ended up missing these guys' set cause i'm not really that into them
i'd have like 3 or 4 nickels
| |
This is so fucking good OMG
| |
their not bad, i just see their name way too much cause they play around here like every week
| |
I would go see them every time
| |
WeepingBanana I'm laughing so hard right now because that is this band in a nutshell for me as well
| |
album rules band rules
| |
This is great. Pretty much what I was expecting this to be like. "Picture of a Tree That Doesn't Look Okay", "Gig Life", "Getting Sodas" and "Low Light Assembly" are especially good. Definitely the best songs they've put out since the Formlessness EP back in 2010.
| |
nah, it's not as good as the split
| |
this is so dope
| |
Just discovered this band 10 minutes ago thanks to Trebor. I love this. Comin to my area soon for 10 bucks with Dads and Pity Sex, I am beyond stoked.
| |
trying to find the leak.
| |
only listened to 3 songs but it's really good so far.
| |
Glad I can spread the word about this band
Fool just stream it or pay for it
| |
i'm streaming it right now. if i like it i might buy it on vinyl but i don't pay for digital albums.
| |
Leaked on what and the band was up in there trying to get it taken down. They was all like "nah bitch".
| |
And about the vocals on this... LOOOOOOLL
| |
I don't understand your point
| |
vocals are good.
| |
the synth is somehow good and not shitty too.
| |
holy fuck I REPEAT HOLY FUCK
| |
It's crazy that Tom is still on so much of this thing and it took them this long to put it out.
| |
Not bad.
| |
So I just want to say keep in mind that this is going to be put up by the band for free/donation on their Bandcamp on the official release date (June 16 or whatever?). Derrick just got drunk and posted a rant about the shit he's getting for letting this leak and he announced it's gonna be free.

| |
I'll hold out till it's on their personal bandcamp and pay the price the label's offering it for then. That way the band can get the money I was close to paying now anyway.
| |
I need to listen to this.
| |
anyone else think this is boring and shitty
| |
really good
| |
I saw them post on fb that this is now the most bought album on bandcamp. Pretty badass. Gonna listen, and yeah thanks treb for spreading the word on these guys and You Blew It!.
| |
Color me impressed. This release is really cool.
| |
already pre-ordered but this is so good fuck yes
| |
Seems pretty cool. Loved their older stuff. This'll probably be good too.
| |
Wait, so do they have a new singer now or what?
| |
i remember reading something about their 'main' vocalist being ill or something but i still hear him on this. idk it was very unclear.
| |
He was quite ill for a long time, but as I understand it that had nothing to do with him leaving...he was either kicked out or left, but whatever the case I've heard it wasn't on good terms.
| |
yeah so never really liked these guys and always opt to leave before their set when i can (which is more often than you'd think) but this is quite good
| |
Bout time I checked this band out, this is friggin great. Thanks for posting this @Rob, I probably wouldn't have known about it otherwise.
| |
My damn this is good.
| |
I love topshelf.
| |
this album great but the band name is just plain stupid
| |
how so?
| |
It's too damn long.
| |
i mean, it's pretty intelligent as well but soooo overly long
| |
Emo band names tho
| |
pretty cool so far.
| |
Glad I can spread the word about this band
I'm actually surprised sputnik isn't all over this band. Every other social media site I visit seems to jock the shit out of them.
| |
fuuuuuuck this is good
| |
The Academy is... a Beautiful Place & I am No Longer Afraid To Die
| |
^Almost Here is the shit.
| |
Glad I can spread the word about this band
lol this band is hyped to death
| |
Still gotta listen to the split. What I heard from it sounded aight
| |
"Glad I can spread the word about this band"
yeah i kind of thought most emo fans already knew about this band but maybe i'm wrong.
but omg heartbeat in the brain is sooo good.
| |
getting sodas is great too.
| |
yeah i kind of thought most emo fans already knew about this band but maybe i'm wrong. yeah you were wrong. all of them already knew about this band.
split with deer leap is better (mainly coz deer leap is better) but this record is better than any of their other shit i think. interesting tumblr rant.
| |
"Shitty Greg - guitar, vocals, piano, synthesizer"
based on this and that tumblr rant i would hazard a guess that he is no longer in the band.
| |
^Their ex-lead singer was Tom Diaz who also played synths/acoustic guitar and I'm pretty sure he does all the lead vox on this album. He left after the Deer Leap split and Dave took over.
"Shitty Greg" is Greg Horbal, one of their longtime guitarists (who is still in the band) and they really enjoy giving him shit publicly for some reason. Hell, their Facebook band description is even "we are an atmospheric emo / indie rock band from Willimantic, CT. Greg is supposed to get hot dogs but he never does."
| |
Sooooo sweet. Kinda weird that Tom sang on the whole album but left the band, now David F Bello performs with them as lead.
Heartbeat In The Brain, Picture of a Tree, Gig Life, and Getting Sodas are all so fucking ace. The vinyl variants all sound awesome too, I ordered the clear/green smoke, can't wait to get it.
And they're finally coming near buffalo this week to Rochester, I'm so pumped.
| |
i ordered the bundle with t-shirt, LP and poster or some shit. didn't get to choose color, hope i get a cool one
