Little bit disappointing. I wish they had of really nailed that disco vibe they were going for. And is it just me or does the production on some songs sound really cheap (for Daft Punk standards anyway)?

A lot of people feel that this is fake, and that the real album will release on the actual date.

Regardless the funk grooves on this are fun, if entirely different than most of the bands work.

There's also buzz in regards to their promotion of this album, I feel like entire blog posts can/will be written on the suppose genius of their marketing.

Pretty bizarre album. Some songs on here I'm really digging like "Giorgio By Moroder", "Doin It Right", and "Contact". A lot of the rest of it seems a little off or just kind of falls flat. I'm not sure what to think.

So iTunes would allow a fake stream....seems legit.

Yeah, this is mediocre, and that's not because the hype surrounding it couldn't be topped, it's just not that good.

Will people realize that when albums are streaming that they stream at 192 and not 320. The actual album will sound at least 75% better from a production perspective. I almost wish songs weren't streamed because of this fact

lose yourself to dance is the better song from Pharrel's collaborations tbh. way more catchy and also kinda melancholic which makes this song really unique

"Giorgio by Moroder" is just so epic. I wasn't expecting it at all the first time.

I think those who were hoping for straight-up disco house will be disappointed, but I'm absolutely loving it all. There's something about a cold vocoder that makes songs like "Within" that much more haunting.

This album is not very good and the only thing I really like about it is the cover, it's just not very good and I only like the cover. I just don't like the songs on this album, I so however, enjoy the cover A LOT. The album had too much hype, but I like the cover.

I listened to 3 or 4 random songs and I really dug them (will listen to the whole thing maybe tomorrow)

I kind of wish it was more in the electro territory, but then again it's a nice change.

Album is awesome.
People who are saying the album feels cheap don't have an ear to distinguish quality of big productions from the others.
Seriously.
This is a supremely BIG production album.

To me it felt weird the melancholic dance songs at first, but they grow on you FAST.

And soon you understand the album concept:

THE ROBOTS ARE BECOMING HUMANS.

THIS. I swear, some of you are absolutely insane. The production on this album is massive. It sounds incredible. I think a lot of you are just missing the point of the album. It'll grow on you if you keep listening. This album is nothing short of amazing.

Listened to a couple tracks - Giorgio by Moroder is just a phenomenal piece of work. So many hidden layers and complexities, there are times when it sounds somewhat akin to Songs in the Key of Life era Stevie Wonder with that early Jamiroquai sound.

However the song is also heavily focused on synthesisers too which sound somewhat similar to Kraftwerk. I honestly applaud the songwriting ability on this track...and seriously have no qualms about the production. It sounds so authentic due to the whole album being analogue controlled. Digital recordings tend to have that extra clarity but can be heavily manipulated. Obviously that can happen with live recordings too but DAMNN they nailed this sound. Awesome stuff

Haven't listened to the whole thing yet, but it's pretty good. Not amazing, but good. Probably about a 4. I have to finish listening to it, and probably give it a few more listens to really drive it home.

"Giorgio by Moroder" is an amazing track though.
