Hopefully wont be shitty like the last two albums were
So fucking pumped.
I want stuff like their reservoir dogs album, but i know that isn't going to happen
Digging: Fred Frith / Darren Johnston - Everybody?s Somebody?s Nobody
BS! I posted this first. Oh well. Unbelievably excited for this.
The fact that they're calling themselves A Fire Inside gives me a vibe of a little old school AFI and Davey started yelling in the video and the spiked upside down cross; gothic dark imagery. Maybe a punk rock album
prob gonna suck like their last three
Hopefully they up the punx.
Up the punx
Davey had the best fucking voice in punk on Black Sails and All Hallows EP

davey havok sux dix
I hope that it's more like Art of Drowning
Was wearing my dance in misery shirt today
The opening track on the last album was great then it all went downhill very suddenly. I still have
hope that these guys can produce some great stuff; the last two albums just felt like they were
avoiding doing the stuff that they had been so good at.
If they bring back the old AFI, this could be amazing. They haven't mentioned "A Fire Inside" in years.
Since the A Fire Inside EP probably
Exactly. If they go back to their punk roots I will shit out a rhinoceros in excitement.
Back when you had no fucking clue what Davey was saying, and it was amazing
I still don't know a single line from Totalimmortal
Besides the "now every face looks familiar part"
I dunno, Hep. They've experimented, found minimal success, so they may realize it's time to return to what they're good at.
God, I hated the last two albums, and the image portrayed by Davey on DecemberUnderground was disgusting.
i want 2 believe
but will nevah happen
or at least sing the sorrow lol. Decemberunderground was what got me into em, so i like that album, but I didn't care for crash love.
I fuckin love Decemberunderground but Crash Love was uninspired shit
alright is not a word so I'm gonna take that statement as saying it's shit
Crash Love was bland and that's one thing that AFI never were, with Davey being the melodramatic guy that he is. DU certainly has it's problems, with it taking me ages to appreciate anything off it, but I really enjoy at least half of it now. Still hoping for that STS sound though. AOD is one of my favourite albums full stop but that AFI is definitely long gone. I don't think they could recreate that sound even if they wanted to.
The things I would give for as many WHOAAAAAAOHOH's as Totalimmortal on new material.
And dem shouts.
'CAUSE YOU REMEMBER, YOU REMEMBER!
theyre going BM obviously.
going to be so Trve
Color me pumped.
STS 2.0 plz
STS 2.0 would be a godsend. hopefully we'll get a song in a couple weeks or so
Stoked. I want choruses full of WOAHs.
Maybe now their forums won't be such a ghost town.
Speaking of which, the gold on there is gone.
Anywho, excited for this one. Crash Love was solid, so if the next album is just as good, I'll be happy.
decemberunderground and crash love were holy fucking shit bad and i'm pretty sure that's where the $$$ is at so don't get too happy thinking of a return to form. band went to shit went davey started banging the bass player.
"band went to shit went davey started banging the bass player."
you can't deny the truth Legs!!!!
I like legs
Considering it seems like everyone is taking a step back into their old sound this year, this will hopefully be the same deal.
"more classic AFI, less shit" seems to be the consensus here
I'd just like to say fuck all y'all who think so much of "punk" and "pop punk". I'm sick of you guys. Seriously.
Their last few albums have been amazing. As, I am sure, this one will be.
You make even less sense than me
I'm in the, love all their albums, camp, so I'm not too worried about where they're going with their sound. But it appears to be of a much darker tone based on this teaser and the despairfactions new theme.
If you think I don't make sense to you, you have comprehension problems. But, here: whenever a band moves away from punk or pop punk... I see a ton of people saying how they wish they'd go back to that sound. And it annoys the shit out of me.
I love you, too, Hep Kat.
Not looking forward to this at all.
Awesome, glad to have a rough date.
'Bout time to break out the collection again.
Was hoping for a better teaser.
never dug these guys
If AFI ever went on a tour where they played any of their old albums in full, I would probably die.
can't wait for this, used to dig these guys so much
Digging: Sampha - Process
Yes we all know Black Sails, All Hallow's, Art of Drowning, and Sing the Sorrow were the best; but Decemberunderground and Crash Love are good albums and have some great songs on them, not the entire album is full of classics like the four I mentioned earlier but don't easily shit on the past two.
Don't know how you couldn't be excited. Too badass when the video cuts off with Davey about to scream and the band about to let loose.
Looks like it could be pretty good. Liking the vibe from that teaser a lot.
Guess it's time for me to finally start listening to this band.
I'm hoping for an 'Art Of Drowning' style album, but that's probably not what we're gong to get, but I like Sing The Sorrow a lot, so hopefully they'll go back to that.
I liked Decemberunderground, but Crash Love was a bit hit and miss.
STS 2.0 plz
Don't know if I should be happy, or worried.
"I'm hoping for an 'Art Of Drowning' style album"
lmao keep hoping
Yeah, that's not going to happen. The trend seems to be that AFI will never repeat the same sound again.
i like afi
I will inevitably listen to this. Certainly not dreading it. I used to listen to them during the DECEMBERUNDERGROUND years and stopped caring after Crash Love. I'm willing to give this a shot though.
Digging: Electric Guest - Plural
The short film clips on the website really make you wonder what this will be like, and Davey's spoken word bit is really enticing.
i hope its not dumb like the last one
