Norway's Shining have released a video for "I Won't Forget" which is the first single for their upcoming album "One One One". Frontman Jørgen Munkeby says that this track is his favorite work that they've done to date. Shining is well-known for their unique take on music - "blackjazz." Black jazz, as it sounds, is a black metal and jazz-fusion hybrid and the band has recieved critical acclaim for their previous works.
This is pretty damn sick, I haven't listened to much by this band but this definitely makes me want to change that.
Wow, they've changed a lot over the years. This almost sounds like Muse covering Children of Bodom.
chorus music is Fear of a blank planet-ey
This is a big change, still pretty cool.
Digging: Sacriphyx - Sacriphyx
I thought this was the Swedish Shining.
Digging: Lake Of Blood - Omnipotens Tyrannus
Very different from the sound on Blackjazz, but it's definitely not a bad thing. A bit more melody, a bit more direct songwriting, but that seems to work out well for them. It's like Blackjazz-lite, more like.
there are a few different bands called shining, btw
this is probably my favorite of them
Ugh wrong Shining
Song's pretty decent oh hey BOOBS
Digging: Jamie Lenman - Muscle Memory
Who thought having a Shining from two neighboring countries was a good idea?
video was super lame, song was ok.
