Final Ministry record details

2013-03-28 by Raul Stanciu STAFF | 17 Comments
Even though Ministry frontman Al Jourgensen mentioned Relapse as the band's final record, himself along with guitar players Sin Quirin, the late Mike Scaccia, bassist Tony Campos and live drummer Aaron Rossi returned last December into the studio to track new songs. Describing those sessions as some of the most creative and fun ever, 18 tracks were recorded in 19 days.

After Mike Scaccia's death on December 23, Jourgensen went back to the studio to finish Ministry's 13th effort, entitled From Beer To Eternity. Scheduled to be release sometime in September, it will be Ministry's last record. Jourgensen commented “Maybe we’ll do one big show with Tommy and Sin and the guys who made this band possible for the past few years. That would be a nice tribute to Mikey. But I can’t do a whole tour without him. Ministry was his life almost as much as mine, and I’m afraid it has to die with him. But damn if we didn’t go out with a bang!”.

Meanwhile, the band added a short making of video recorded in December which can be viewed here - http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=v01VqJJuYis

Here is From Beer To Eternity's tracklist:

1. Hail to his Majesty
2. Punch In The Face
3. PermaWar
4. Perfect Storm
5. Fairly Unbalanced
6. The Horror
7. Side FX include Mikey's Middle Finger (T.V.4)
8. Lesson Unlearned
9. Thanx But No Thanx
10. Change of Luck
11. Enjoy The Silence

God Al's been bombing since 03,04. He needs to lay Ministry to rest FOR GOOD unless he can make another solid Industrial album to finish the game, not Slayer wannabe music (nothing against Slayer) like the "Bush Trilogy" or Relapse. Although they still put on a killer show from what I hear...Nice Nick Cave pun tho lol "From Her to Eternity"

Relapse was a disappointment, but I hope this will be better.

Haha, yeah, this is their third "last" album. I hope that out of those fun, creative sessions came out stronger tracks.

Relapse was poor but I have hopes of a new album which has some consistency

So let me get this straight, The Last Sucker was his "last" album. Then he came found out with Relapse which I thought was his return but apparently was his last album again? Either Al or the author of this article are confusing as fuck. So is this going to be his last album because of Mike Scaccia's death?

And for the record, Relapse was a solid album and doesn't differ much from his past 10 years worth of releases.

I bet he'll do one more reunion album after with Paul Barker (if Al doesn't die first). I hope he does (release another w Barker). (shit.)

Anyone interested in Ministry should check out Paul Barker's solo work. I like post-Barker thrash Ministry a lot, but solo Barker is even better, almost as good as Mind / Psalm era Ministry.
