Cult of Luna go acoustic

Swedish post metal giants Cult of Luna, have tracked an acoustic adaptation of the song "Passing Through" from their recently released Vertikal album.
Instead of filming the session in studio or a venue, Cult of Luna went ahead and performed at night during a snowstorm, at a harbor near Helsinki.

2 days after the show in Stockholm. these guys are great and the song works fantastically as an acoustic piece. saw some of these lads perform with Khoma last night. great show. these guys can do no wrong.

um, they sound professionally mic'd and the snowstorm sound effects sound like it was tacked on afterwards, hell there isn't even a mic on set, not one
this is professionally recorded in a studio, i'd bet money on it
still a cool video though, beautiful imagery, really wish i was there [:

Yeah, I don't see a xylophone sounding so clear anywhere but a studio. Same with the vocals.
The track was beautiful. I hope to hear more of that in their upcoming records.

"We shot it in one take and my fingers were so cold that I couldn't feel them after only halfway through the song. I didn't get the feeling back for over 30 minutes after we got inside. All wind sounds you hear are real — no special sound effects to make it sound cool — the sound is straight from the mic. It was fucking freezing and fucking windy. The blizzard came from Sweden where it had closed cities and roads and it got worse later on during the night. The images actually do not give the cold justice."

I can't get this out of my head almost two weeks later. This recording is so ridiculously haunting. Cult of Luna should really record a Damnation-esque album.
