A full track from the score for the upcoming Tom Cruise sci-fi action film "Oblivion" has surfaced today. The song was composed by M83 mastermind Anthony Gonzalez who has been hard at work with his second outing to composing music for a film; his first being for the french film "Black Heaven"
The soundtrack is set to be released April 5th and to feature Norwegian singer Susanne Sundfør
Really great track. I'm looking forward to this album more than the actual film tbh.
really nice, hope the movie is this good
never disappoints and amazing live.

the cool thing about m83 is that they turn the generic movie-preview epicness into pop songs - without the songs you're pretty much just left with a run-of-the-mill soundtrack. as much as I love m83 i don't see how this will be much more than digital shades vol. 2 with a slightly more commercial edge
This is really awesome! m83 will be doing another electronic album, without vocals! This is the best news I've heard so far this year. I'm dying for another Dead Cities, Red Seas, and Lost Ghosts. That was the album that really sold me on electronica when it first came out.
yeah i dont care about the film but im definitely gonna check out the soundtrack
ok god damn he is really good at composing epic sounding film scores
this track is excellent
Will be better than Tom Cruise
the trailer makes it look pretty cool, but only cause it's gonna be so incredibly overblown and the CGI looks intense. Honestly, it pretty much looks like a ripoff of The Matrix, with some added glam.
I might take my dad to see it, he loves going out to the movies, especially twisted action blockbusters. (I can geek out to him about the soundtrack). I'm always tempted to boycott anything to do with Tom Cruise, but he gets the job done in movies like this so fuck it, I'm in. Gon be 3/5 but the popcorn will have extra butter and I'll make the bitch stop an extra layer halfway through the bucket.
I saw the trailer during the super bowl, I think; I can remember none of it, however. Tom Cruise is serviceable. I perennially watch Speilberg's War of the Worlds remake, which is a solid film. Spielberg's Minority Report (also starring Cruise) is a far superior science fiction film and a film in which Tom Cruise is actually really good.
And taking dad to see a blockbuster sci-fi film sounds fantastic.
I thought the War of the Worlds remake was terrible. Minority Report was ok, I loved it when it came out but I was pretty young. saw both those in theatres with my dad lol
Another Tom Cruise sci-fi? aside from his case of the crazies he is a pretty fine actor. might check it out since it looks half-decent. I'm a sucker for sci-fi, can't help it.
Interesting that M83 are doing the soundtrack. I'm betting it'll sound better than Daft Punk's soundtrack for TRON: Legacy even though it had its moments.
love M83 and love Susanne Sundfor. movie looks awesome as well so i am excited for this
also a sucker for sci-fi. I'd probably check out this movie just to hear the M83 song in it. I'm a bigger sucker for M83, in this regard.
Not just an m83 song, an entire soundtrack. We're talking 15-20 songs.
An amazing musician
