Vomitory Disbanding
2013-02-20 by RedTravis713 | 10 Replies | 926 Views

RIP Vomitory. The last update from the Swedish death metal band revealed plans of a new album but today they have announced that Vomitory is disbanding at the end of this year with eight albums under their belt and a career of 24 years.

Official statement from the band: "After 24 years, eight albums and hundreds of live shows across 30 countries, we have finally come to the end of the road. We in the band -Tobias, Urban, Erik and Peter - have made the collective decision to end Vomitory by the end of 2013. It has been a blast on all accounts, but all good things come to to an end, and for Vomitory it is now.

We will still play as many shows as possible during 2013, and we hope to see as many of you fans as possible there, so we can thank you for your true support during all these years!"

Opus Mortis VIII, released in 2011, will then be their swansong unless they decide to release a farewell album.

The news was announced on their website here: http://www.vomitory.net/

I've never found this band to be particularly interesting but this is sad news. They are one of the less known veterans of death metal and have done a great job supporting many great bands on tour over the years.

Shame, these guys weren't too special, but they were as consistent as fuck.

Primal Massacre is the only album I've heard and I don't think I'm missing much with the rest of their discog.
