I have precambrian laying around, guess i'll check it tomorrow
Will probably rule.
I personally enjoy the direction they took with Anthropocentric.
Heliocentric had some lolbad parts but Anthropocentric was a whole lot of fun to listen to. Their first three LPs are great, but they're a bit of a chore to listen to at times.
Still have to check out this band. Been meaning to for a while now, just never really got around to it.
"this is their last chance i swear to God"
haha I am not at that point yet but I am really hoping that this will be great
Digging: Coldworld - Autumn
Digging: Bear's Den - Red Earth & Pouring Rain
Fluxion and Aeolian are fantastic and Precambrian is one of my favorite albums; Heliocentric was kind of a big "fuck you" to me and Anthropocentric was decent. I'm glad to see they are including an instrumental version because I hate that dude's cleans. Fogdiver was pretty cool.
Digging: Kayo Dot - Plastic House on Base of Sky
fromtheinside, what is with you dude? You seem to be one of the most depressed people on the site.
he likes Linkin Park. I used to listen to them and I was depressed.
fti just doesnt like music anymore
Helio is great if you skip everything between Firmament and The Origin of Species.
Digging: Ilaria Graziano - Yoko Kanno produce Cyber Bicci
Hopefully it's good
It's not rumored to be called, it IS CALLED Pelagial. I know this because I'm subscribed to the
Pelagic Records mailing list. It also has a cover, but the resolution is terrible because it was just
in the 'upcoming albums' section.
Helio is great if you skip everything between Firmament and The Origin of Species.
this is their last chance i swear to God
god, no more watery names
pls god don't let it suck
Digging: Emmanuel - Installations
I feel as if I am the only person who thoroughly enjoyed both Heliocentric and Anthropocentric. I don't really understand why so many people hate Helio, yea it's completely different but it still incorporates plenty of interesting themes and instrumentation
I just want another Precambrian
Precambrian is probably one of the best albums I've ever heard out of nowhere. Still haven't really checked out the other albums.
Europe is such a cool country man.
I thought Anthro was great. Stoked.
"I don't really understand why so many people hate Helio"
1. Most fans are still shell-shocked over the change in sound
2. The songwriting is largely choppy and unmemorable
Staps should have just called it a new band and it would have been much better received.
Not to be confused with the band "Oceana". GOOD. Firmament on repeat now.
But that metalsuks article cited as a source is not official. It's just a speculation over the few bits of news we have so far...
However, i'm stoked for this album
The band posted the article themselves on facebook. Highly doubt they would do that if it wasn't correct info
album name seems so....tired. not sure i'll like it. not the same band that made the first few albums, even if stapps is the one behind it all.
Stop letting other people write.
New band name would have been an excellent idea.
They must not be embracing their new vocalist(s) if they're releasing an instrumental version.
Their vocals need more Caleb Scofield, Nate Newton, and Sean Ingram.
"I feel as if I am the only person who thoroughly enjoyed both Heliocentric and Anthropocentric. I don't really understand why so many people hate Helio, yea it's completely different but it still incorporates plenty of interesting themes and instrumentation"
Besides the vocalist, the other new members have been touring with them since just after the release of Precambrian, so it wouldn't have made sense to rename the band. And there's nothing wrong with letting other people write, because that's exactly what made Anthropocentric better than Helio (which Robin exclusively wrote).
Plus, the other guys are great musicians... see Coilguns, or Kunz, as examples of why.
Dont forget Meta
Met Robin once. Dude was mad german which is right up my alley.
