I personally enjoy the direction they took with Anthropocentric.

Heliocentric had some lolbad parts but Anthropocentric was a whole lot of fun to listen to. Their first three LPs are great, but they're a bit of a chore to listen to at times.

Still have to check out this band. Been meaning to for a while now, just never really got around to it.

Cool though.

Fluxion and Aeolian are fantastic and Precambrian is one of my favorite albums; Heliocentric was kind of a big "fuck you" to me and Anthropocentric was decent. I'm glad to see they are including an instrumental version because I hate that dude's cleans. Fogdiver was pretty cool.

Helio is great if you skip everything between Firmament and The Origin of Species.

It's not rumored to be called, it IS CALLED Pelagial. I know this because I'm subscribed to the
Pelagic Records mailing list. It also has a cover, but the resolution is terrible because it was just
in the 'upcoming albums' section.

I feel as if I am the only person who thoroughly enjoyed both Heliocentric and Anthropocentric. I don't really understand why so many people hate Helio, yea it's completely different but it still incorporates plenty of interesting themes and instrumentation

"I don't really understand why so many people hate Helio"

1. Most fans are still shell-shocked over the change in sound
2. The songwriting is largely choppy and unmemorable

Staps should have just called it a new band and it would have been much better received.

Not to be confused with the band "Oceana". GOOD. Firmament on repeat now.

But that metalsuks article cited as a source is not official. It's just a speculation over the few bits of news we have so far...
However, i'm stoked for this album

The band posted the article themselves on facebook. Highly doubt they would do that if it wasn't correct info

New band name would have been an excellent idea.

They must not be embracing their new vocalist(s) if they're releasing an instrumental version.

Their vocals need more Caleb Scofield, Nate Newton, and Sean Ingram.

THANK YOU.
Besides the vocalist, the other new members have been touring with them since just after the release of Precambrian, so it wouldn't have made sense to rename the band. And there's nothing wrong with letting other people write, because that's exactly what made Anthropocentric better than Helio (which Robin exclusively wrote).
Plus, the other guys are great musicians... see Coilguns, or Kunz, as examples of why.
