so heavy man
|
| |
Sweet. Lapsus was decent.
Digging: Deafheaven - Sunbather
|
| |
This is a really long album.
|
| |
ossum, lapsus was fucking great
|
| |
Ridiculously good so far. Smart people making smart music:
http://lightbearerband.wordpress.com/on-literary-references/
|
| |
This is even better than Lapsus. It's insane
|
| |
The first song might as well be an album in and of itself.
|
| |
good to hear its better than lapsus since that wore off rather fast
Digging: The National - Trouble Will Find Me
|
| |
Fuck yeah, Excited to hear this
Digging: Altar of Plagues - Teethed Glory and Injury
|
| |
First song is fantastic so far. And wow, a 79 minute album.
|
| |
Dat riff in track 2.
|
| |
just got this, gonna listen now
Digging: Mouth of the Architect - Quietly
|
| |
Don't usually like doom that much but these guys are pretty good.
Digging: Deafheaven - Sunbather
|
| |
this rules pretty hard
Digging: Portishead - Portishead
|
| |
Listening to both albums straight through at the moment. Pretty excited for this. Lapsus was fucking awesome.
|
| |
"a 79 minute album."
this better not turn into a chore
|
| |
the first five minutes of this are amazing
|
| |
I really enjoy their music but atheistic zealots aren't any better than theistic zealots.
Digging: Polkadot Cadaver - Last Call in Jonestown
|
| |
I feel exactly the same way.
|
| |
Gonna get this when I get home
Digging: Stars - Set Yourself On Fire
|
| |
i'll get cause y'know, it's free and i've been meaning to check out this band.
Digging: Supercell - Today is a Beautiful Day
|
| |
there's a lot of fluff here. not as impressive as i'd hoped but heavy enough to keep me satisfied for now
|
| |
You snaked my article, mane.
Digging: Immolation - Kingdom of Conspiracy
|
| |
i feel like i've been listening to this forever but it's been a half hour.
|
| |
"I really enjoy their music but atheistic zealots aren't any better than theistic zealots."
I could be wrong, but I don't think they're atheistic zealots. They're just telling a story. I don't think they're trying to be anti-religious or preachy or anything.
|
| |
As far as I know, their album concepts are about Lucifer (atheists generally don't preach about Lucifer).
And these guys were better in Fall of Efrafa, the Watership Down concepts make me happy.
|
| |
It's a cool concept either way. I find it interesting that they depict Lucifer as a tragic hero.
I never listened to Fall of Efrafa, I should get on that.
|
| |
My comment wasn't in response to the subject matter of their music, it was in response to skimming the link coleba posted up there.
|
| |
this is boring.
after that intro this should have been better
|
| |
listening right now, sweet heavy stuff, could outrule Lapsus indeed.
Digging: The Dillinger Escape Plan - One of Us Is the Killer
|
| |
"My comment wasn't in response to the subject matter of their music, it was in response to skimming the link coleba posted up there."
Ahh shit, I see what you mean now. Yeah, they take it a bit far. I understand that a lot of religious people are bigots and morons but not all of them. I don't know, it seems like they make some slightly unfair generalizations.
|
| |
I mean, I would certainly identify myself as an atheist (or perhaps 'agnostic' would be the more sound term) but to brand religion as having no intrinsic value is as ignorant as preaching blindly in its favor.
|
| |
Of course not all of them are bigots and morons, but sure there is a lot of them. They talk about the
Christian religion specifically, of which the mayority is, indeed, bigoted. Even their most respected
liders are bigots, and most of them don't seem to have a problem with it.
Generalizations aren't inherently wrong; one could be talking about the mayority, without assuming all
of the group to generalize are like that.
|
| |
man i like your statement but i dont like your spelling
Digging: Twin Shadow - Confess
|
| |
Who?
|
| |
I'm not digging this as much as Lapsus at the moment.
|
| |
hey this sounds like a post metal record
|
| |
I'm highly against religion and support Light Bearer in their message. How they "tear apart" religion and whatnot. I mean, I don't care if people are religious, they can do what they want, but I abhor the concept of most religions as a whole.
|
| |
who cares about religion
|
| |
Not me, I tend to avoid talking or associating myself with the topics of religion. Which is not evident by my previous post. But I usually tend to try and forget they exist. But there are some great books to read up on when I'm feeling adventurous.
|
| |
i only read porno
|
| |
it's a good life
|
| |
The first song on this is so good.
|
| |
Gonna listen later I'm sure it rules
Digging: GZA - Liquid Swords
|
| |
yazz it's all the more the reason this is so disappointing to me
|
| |
I'm only half-way through the third track right now but I'd imagine this needs a few listens to really settle.
|
| |
it's possible but drags in several areas
|
| |
the whole album is a drag, nothing happens, it's too lethargic and basic to be worth much at all
Digging: Summoning - Old Mornings Dawn
|
| |
completely agree
|
| |
LOVE THIS BAND.
I love Lapsus.
I hope this is good. Some people apparently think it sucks. I will see for myself.
Digging: William Basinski - The Disintegration Loops II
|
| |
this first song feels like it's setting me up for disappointment it's so good.
Digging: -
|
| |
There is a lot of drag in this, at least on first impression. It suffers from being a bit bloated for sure, and I think that's why I prefer Lapsus a bit at this point. It's still pretty good though.
|
| |
It dragged in the middle but the bookends are fantastic. Need more listens.
|
| |
It's also missing some "holy shit" moments. Like that drumming and bassline at the 7 minute mark of Armoury Choir blew my mind the first time I heard it. Silver Tongue has a lot less of those.
|
| |
"Some people apparently think it sucks. I will see for myself."
you make me smile
|
| |
I'm glad I make dem smiles.
Also, the intro is really awesome. I'm a fan so far. But if it just carries on without much diversity
other than the meat of the first track, it'll get a little dull. Maybe it's just my browser or
internet or something... but is anyone getting pops in the first track?
|
| |
nope not me
|
| |
you could've taken that anyway but i'm glad you chose to find out for yourself.
|
| |
Ah the pops sorted out.
I'm feeling a 3 or 3.5 off of this.
|
| |
Checkin' this out. Sounds kind of interesting.
|
| |
I'm highly against religion and support Light Bearer in their message. How they "tear apart" religion and whatnot. I mean, I don't care if people are religious, they can do what they want, but I abhor the concept of most religions as a whole.
so edgy man damn
Digging: Irfan - Seraphim
|
| |
the last two tracks on this are fantastic
|
| |
but the 2nd track until then is soooooooo boring
|
| |
idk this wasnt boring for me
|
| |
it's cause of your av
|
| |
ADELE
|
| |
i'm just pulling straws here
|
| |
ill pull your straws
|
| |
I'm sorry, Snoxall. Free LP just sounds more enticing than Album Stream!
|
| |
People shouldn't be surprised by Light Bearer being so anti-religious. Fall of Efrafa was just as anti-religious as Light Bearer is.
