The 'modern' remark is just a throwback to fan reaction to all the vintage synths used on SOTU; it was a bit overdone. Don't worry bloc, DM don't have it in them for shite like that!

Okay, I just listened to Heaven and it does seem to continue with the sound that was on SOTU. Lots of sharp synths, lots of distortion, and relatively high tempo. I'm thinking the new album will be a grower.

At least I hope so.

Not sure what to expect, I love a big part of depeche mode discography but their last album was really bland.

Not too excited at the moment, but I haven't heard anything other than the unfinished version of Angel from the press conference. I'm not too sure about the artwork either. I kinda dig the picture, but the signs seem to be a bit too much. I wished Anton would have used the new DM-logo just once.

Actually preferring the B-side "All That's Mine" so far. Heaven's a lovely track, but 1st single? Maybe it'll take more time to sink in...

'Should Be Higher' is the second song, fantastic live!

'Soft Touch/Raw Nerve' and 'Soothe My Soul' need to sink in a bit, especially the latter (doesn't sound DM at all), but they translated quite well live, I think.

Mostly amazed that they did 'Barrel of a Gun' - finally, after 15 years, it's back in the setlist! Raw version, but Dave will hopefully deliver once her gets warmed up on the tour.
