New Senses Fail Album Finished 2013-01-20 by Andrew Caswell | 101 Replies | 2297 Views |
Senses Fail have officially wrapped up the studio process for
the highly anticipated new album entitled Renacer, which
means, “to be reborn” in Spanish, and will see a release date
on March 26, 2013.
In a short video, lead vocalist Buddy Nielsen talks about how
the band began writing in February of last year and kicked off
recording in November out in Los Angeles with guitarist Shaun
Lopez of Crosses.
He goes on to promise that the sound this time around is a
natural progression and by far the heaviest thing they’ve ever
created so the fans that love that side of them are in luck.
The band will also be embarking on a spring headlining tour in the states with the line-up
consisting of Such Gold, Real Friends, and Major League as the initial support is underway.

sweet.

Never listen to what a band says about their music. In my experience, when a band member promises a certain thing about an album, it's pretty much completely untrue or only partly true.
Digging: Immolation - Kingdom of Conspiracy

Well, it wouldn't surprise me if they were going for the sound on Warpaint, which is probably among their heaviest songs. But yeah, you're right. Bands tend to talk bullshit when it's about their next album.
|
| |
andcas is stoked out of his mind
Digging: Portishead - Portishead
|
| |
nm he posted the article lol
|
| |
there's no reason to not believe him considering the fire, war paint, and his hardcore project bayonet has seen buddy starting to get more aggressive.
Digging: Faith No More - The Real Thing

Yeah, but Bad Religion also promised True North to be 16 hard fast punk songs under two minutes, released four singles that fit that description, then streamed the album and was like "lol tricked you fuckers it's diverse as fuck"
|
| |
album will slay. quit raining on my parade.

I'm beyond pumped.

Hopefully this material is on par with War Paint, that's probably the best Senses Fail song I've heard since Let It Enfold you came out.

|

Let It Enfold You is their best album by a long shot.

"Never listen to what a band says about their music. "
ESPECIALLY when the word "heavy" is mentioned.
Oh well, band sucks.

Heaviest thing they've done? Awesome, so stoked for this
Digging: The Dillinger Escape Plan - One of Us Is the Killer

Hopefully better than their last two. Those were boring IMO
|
| |
Never actually listened to this band. Where do I start?
Digging: The Dillinger Escape Plan - One of Us Is the Killer

I would enjoy a Senses Fail album more geared towards their heavy side. Those are usually my favorite songs by them.
Digging: The Computers - Love Triangles Hate Squares
|
| |
Start with Still Searching, then Let It Enfold You.
I never liked Let it Enfold you nearly as much as everybody else did.
Still stoked for this though, The Fire was awesome.
Digging: Laura Stevenson - Wheel
|
| |
will probably be pretty good
|
| |
the fire is just as good as still searching. imo it's way more personal and emotional but nostalgically let it enfold you will always be my favorite. there's also nothing wrong with life is not a waiting room. they really don't have a weak album.
|
| |
should be decent
Digging: John Frusciante - Niandra LaDes and Usually Just a T-Shirt
|
| |
Uh...What is a Senses Fail?
Digging: Kalmah - Seventh Swamphony
|

I have Still Searching on coke bottle vinyl. Pretty cool.
|
| |
will suck
|
| |
will listen. album title is a palindrome, lame.
Digging: The National - Trouble Will Find Me
|
| |
renacer
recaner
|
| |
i didn't see that. whatever
|
| |
this will be awesome
|
| |
I really like all their stuff from Still Searching and after. I never could get into the EP or Let It Enfold You.
|
| |
the song let it enfold you is still probably my most favorite by them.
|
| |
agreed. Let It Enfold You (the song) is definitely my favourite. The end of that song still hits hard.
|
| |
I love the metaphors in that song.
|
| |
Let it enfold you is one of their best songs agreed. I only just recently started showing love to The Fire and don't regret it, I slept on that record just like I slept on still searching and life is not a waiting room for a few years after both releases. All very strong records even tho Let It Enfold You is my personal favorite
Oh and I like their EP too but I can see why people aren't keen on it.
|
| |
Their EP is about the only thing that I don't think is anything special, save for 187 and Bloody Romance. Each album though, I have come to love individually over the last few years. I'm very excited for Renacer.
|
| |
by far the heaviest thing stoked [2]
Still Searching is still by far my favourite, although I did enjoy select tracks off The Fire A LOT and Let it enfold you just wasn't a fan of their older slower songs or Life is a Waiting Room
|
| |
Will be awesome.
Digging: The Dillinger Escape Plan - One of Us Is the Killer
|
| |
the fire was a good song
Digging: Hum - Downward Is Heavenward
|
| |
gonna be awesome
|
| |
I really like Bloody Romance and Rum Is For Drinking, Not For Burning from their first two releases, but nothing else was really all that appealing to me.
|
| |
Fucking psyched for this.
Digging: Attila - About That Life
|
| |
I'm the only person who enjoys/enjoyed Life is Not a Waiting Room. They were at their best
with Heath's ballin ass leads and backing vocals
edit: how the hell does everyone like the fire so much? The songs were way less catchy than on any
other album (don't include the lead single), guitars/instrumentation became less interesting, and the
lyrics were a step sideways. Shit could have came out 6-7 years ago and you'd be like "this is let it
enfold you, but slightly shittier 2/10 no progression would not listen"
|
| |
I love life is not a waiting room but the fire is better imo.
|
| |
waiting room's their worst album but it's still great
|
| |
I only remember Wolves at the Door from that album. I should throw it on again.
|
| |
Edit apparently that was so exciting I had to say it twice
|
| |
i like yellow angels and blackout but they're slower songs
|
| |
One of the guitarists left after Waiting Room. I believe it was the ex-Midtown guy. I'm guessing he was the one writing the more interesting stuff that was on Waiting Room (and possibly Still Searching depending on when he joined). The other guitarist wrote both rhythm and lead on The Fire and they got a touring guitarist. I forget where I heard/read this at tho...
These may or may not be the facts of Senses Fail. I am pretty sure they have had a decent amount of line up changes over the years.
Wolves At At The Door, Ali For Cody and Garden State are my favorites from Waiting Room.
|
| |
their line up changes haven't affected the band in a negative way at all. If you listen to the follow your bliss EP some of the new songs sound like they could have been on still searching or waiting room but they sound as solid as ever.
my #1 most anticipated of 2013. buddy is one of my favorite lyricists.
|
| |
Yea, they release good stuff. I think Buddy is the only original member actually.
|
| |
buddy IS senses fail
|
| |
buddy nielsen and dan trapp are the only original members left. dave got kicked out before still searching came out because he couldn't keep up with the new music. heath joined up until after life is not a waiting room and was replaced by zack roach. mike glita left after still searching was out and jason black from hot water music came in. garrett left after the fire and was replaced by matt smith from strike anywhere. jason is probably the latest to leave since he hasn't been in the new promos but yeah, the band is as strong as ever with the most talented line-up they've ever had.
|
| |
Buddy Neilson, Kevin Durant, and myself becoming more aggressive should make 2013 an amazing year. I'm so excited only andcas is prolly more excited than I am.
|
| |
*nielsen
and no one is more excited than me.
|
| |
Lol
|
| |
it's funny because it's true.
|
| |
I don't doubt you, but I'm calling dibs on 2nd cuz I've supported them on this site since 8 years ago.
|
| |
thats not fair i already jumped the gun and called this aoty, so im up there on most excited sputniker
|
| |
fuck that i'm the most excited
|
| |
raise your hand if you have a signed let it enfold you cd from all the original members dating back to 05.
yeah that's what I thought!
|
| |
that's cool i have a signed copy of new found glory's self titled album and it dates back past 2005.
|
| |
thats cool guys i have follow your bliss tatted on my chest
just kidding but for real im stoked
|
| |
Alright looks like we got a fatal-four way.
KRIPES SMASH!
|
| |
you guys are going to end up in the hospital
tehe
|
| |
I have drum stixxx signed by Pete Parada of Saves the Day. I'm only saying cuz I got it at the Senses Fail headlining tour.
|
| |
Heath is the guy I am thinking of, he was a guitarist for Midtown before they called it quits.
|
| |
Damn I forgot all about Midtown.
|
| |
100!
|
| |
All I have heard is Forget What You Know. I really like it, but I haven't checked out any of their other stuff yet.
I have a signed copy of Phoenix by The Classic Crime and a signed copy of a Vienna Teng album (kind of an obscure indie/pop artist). That's all my signed music paraphernalia unfortunately.
Also, I am excited for album too.
