Fates Warning announce new album 2012-12-29 by Voivod STAFF | 37 Replies | 2267 Views |
The planets have been aligned, finally.
The heart and soul of Fates Warning, Jim Matheos announced that the band has concluded composing work for a new album, set to be released some time in 2013.
With respect to the lineup responsible for the new album, guitarist Frank Aresti has undertaken guitar duties for the first time since 1994's Inside Out, while the drums have been recorded by Bobby Jarzombek (Riot etc.), known from his contribution in the recent Arch/Matheos Sympathetic Resonance album.

This better be good. Over 8 years in the making.

The band has been composing new material in 2012 only.
Regardless of its quality, the new album will be fresh enough.

The title is misleading -_-

Wow. I'll be looking forward to this.
Hasn't the band's live lineup been mostly Dream Theater for years?

No, they just used Kevin Moore as a session keyboardist for some studio recordings and selected concerts.
|

will it be a continuation of the sound on their newest? or more of an 80s/90s prog metal type thing? hmm

Huh. Seemed to remember reading lots about Portnoy/Petrucci/Myung/Ruddess and Matheos playing together out or something. Might've been bullshit.
Either way this is still cool.
