Nirvana + Paul McCartney?
2012-12-12 by Philip Whitehead | 93 Replies | 4070 Views

News is spreading across the internet today that the 2 survivors of influential grunge band
Nirvana will perform a one-off reunion tonight at charity concert 121212 in New York, with
former Beatle Sir Paul McCartney performing vocal duties. McCartney said upon first
rehearsal that he had no idea who the trio of Dave Grohl, Krist Novoselic and Pat Smear were
until someone told him "that's Nirvana. You're Kurt."

I think you'll find that there are only 2 surviving members

Smear is performing with them - he was at least a touring member until they broke up and we have no idea if he was set to play on the 4th album or not and we'll never know.

I guess so. He played in the secret reunion back in 2010 though. I genuinely think he would've been a full time member come album 4.

Couldn't get anymore opposite, no-one was ever crying for a Nirvana reunion so it should have been left alone.

If they were gonna get a big name to do it, it should've been Corey Taylor. No doubt in my mind he would've been suited to the job.

Agreed but Nirvana had their time, place and sound and Paul singing nirvana reeks of failure. I'm assuming they are not doing Nirvana tracks?

Could be kind of interesting if nothing else. I doubt they will play any Nirvana songs, the media is undoubtedly making it it out to be more than it is.

Dunno Taylor can fit most styles and probably imitate Cobain quite well - whenever he's performed other people's songs before he's done pretty good portrayals.
