Rwake post new video 2012-10-23 by Greg Fisher STAFF | 19 Replies | 967 Views |
Arkansas sludge metal outfit Rwake have posted the clip for "It Was Beautiful But Now It's Sour," the song taken from their last year's album Rest. The disturbing video depicts dead pig fetuses getting totally annihilated in every possible way in slow motion. It most definitely pushes the limits of good taste and is not advisable for the faint-hearted.

Yuck. One of the most disgusting and disturbing videos ever. Watch at your own risk. Already banned from youtube.

I have no idea what the point of this was, but the song still rules.

The point was to re-create an oppressive vibe of the song. This video poses some interesting questions: how far can you really go to do this? what are the limits? and did they go overboard with this one?
I'm looking for answers guys.

I agree. Their last two albums rule hard. I'm not so sure about this video though.

Rest was amazing as well but I liked Voice of Omens just a little more

I could be wrong, but I feel like I've heard this band is fairly big on hippy-ish stuff like animal rights. makes me wonder if this is some sort of statement. or i'm probably just reading too much into it. it's definitely visually interesting, but hard to watch.
one of the most underrated sludge bands around

"I've heard this band is fairly big on hippy-ish stuff like animal rights."
Now I'm even more confused. But, yeah. The video is very well shot. I'll give them that.

This is just poor taste. Seems like they are being brutal for the sake of gore. If there is a message in this video, it is not conveyed effectively. I can't help but think that the concept must have spawned from a VERY sick person. I mean why would anyone sane want to expose people to this nonsense?
I think this video was made to shock people for band publicity.

The video was disgusting, but I think it's pretty cool to be honest. Is it real pig fetuses by the way?

"all real pig feti were harmed in the making of this film"

Aha video didn't really bother me, it sorta feels like there's some kind of message at the same time it all seems pure for shock value, regardless video was cool and band is fuckin awesome.

wasn't even bad...cattle decap's new vid was way worse.

Cattle Decapitation's video is easy to digest for me because it's obvious it is all fake. The blood, the gore, the asshole drilling is all artificial.
But this video is just ugh. Dropping a big weight onto a fetus, making it explode into a giant blood splatter is unsettling cause it's a real thing. It may be dead but damn it's just....ugh.
