Alien Ant Farm Singer Recalls Crash 2012-09-15 by JohnFire | 32 Replies | 3580 Views |
Alien Ant Farm singer Dryden Mitchell wrote a very touching Facebook entry detailing what he went through in his band's fatal bus crash that occurred while they were touring Spain in 2002. Mitchell suffered a fractured C2 vertebrae from that and one of their crew members died.

Currently Alien Ant Farm are in the studio with producer Johnny K (Staind, Disturbed, Megadeth) recording their first record since 2006 and their first record with their original lineup since 2003's TruAnt.

It hurt to read. Not because it was emotionally provoking (it was) but because capitalizing the first letter of every word
makes me lose my place easily and strain more than I should when reading.
Captivating read though.

Whenever I see someone type like that I always think "what a bitch it must be to hold the shift key down that often and yet that infrequently at the same time."

That was surprisingly well written and touching. Their first album is somewhat of a guilty pleasure of mine. Tony Haaaaawwwwwkkkkk

You should listen to other albums, I'm looking forward to a new album, I was wondering what these guys have been doing all this time. I really don't get why they would be a guilty pleasure, Truant was an excellent and mature album, much better than their first anyway.

I saw these dudes live a year or two ago because it was free, and they were actually pretty damn fun. I always liked this band despite not actually liking a lot of what they put out because they always seemed fun, I mean the smooth criminal cover was great, and tracks like "Movies" were fun too. I'll definitely check out a new album from them.
I didn't know anything about the crash and TBH I won't read the article since I have no emotional connection or other interest, but I hope the best for these dudes still.

This is really touching.
Always had a soft spot for AAF - had a summer where all I listened to was them and Lostprophets.

Don't really understand the point of the story. It's like half of a story, ends rather abruptly before arriving at a reason. And why in the fuck would someone type that way, it's so stupid.

I'm sorry, but what is the point in talking about it ten years later? You have to move on, man.

Thanks to those who didn't get sucked into the pity-party...What exactly is the point of bringing this up 10 years after the fact? Kinda smells like publicity, written in a way to evoke emotion, but coming off more like a bad short story. Be thankful for the lives you guys have, the chance to keep making music for a living, and try to live on the bright side.

surprised if he isn't severely handicapped. C2 is pretty vital...

If the new album is as good as the last two, we'll be lucky. Underrated band.
|

The last two albums don't hook me in like ANThology does.

I used to love these guys I didn't know they were still around

apparently the bus driver was low and didnt watch the rooaaddd

| |
Does that mean he wasn't high (aka slang for sober?)
or depressed?

Band is criminally underrated.
|
| |
they haven't really done anything worthy of being under or overrated.
|
| |
Everything outside of that terrible cover goes completely unnoticed. For that reason, they're underrated.
|
| |
ANThology is on sale for $7 on itunes store. That's a good price for nostalgia.
|
| |
but the cover is great as well even though it doesn't portray the band in the correct manner
|
| |
Didn't expect that many guys like me who think that they are underrated. Oh and to the guy who said that writing this now smells of publicity - doesn't really make sense to write it in a facebook post to people who already like your band (pun intended) if you want publicity.
