Digging: Dark Tranquillity - Construct

because they like the chocolate watchband they are best
|
| |
but i dont think this will be good because i dont think ulver is fit to cover lighthearted psychedelia
at all
|
| |
And because they made Bergtatt, Nattens Madrigal, Perdition City, and Shadows of the Sun, so that pretty much makes them better than any other band ever.
|
| |
Well, no, these days I mostly just listen to your hyperbolic, contradictory statements filtered through the robotic monotone of Xtranormal.
|
| |
Oh shit. That reminds me... we got the promo about a week ago. Time to search the e-mail.

This will suck tremendously
|
| |
Band has been not good since they stopped playing black metal
|
| |
Nah, they've actually been better.
|
| |
we dont want cover albums.. we want black metal albums!
Digging: Mouth of the Architect - Quietly

Ulver covering JA.... it can be either great or fail miserably.
Odds are the second option will be the right one, but who knows

I've been looking forward to this idea they covered "I Had Too Much To Dream Last Night"... enjoyed the hell out of that. Stoked to find out they're really doing it.

Idk this could be good, and if anyone could do then it's certainly Ulver. Cover albums in general just hardly ever work though
Digging: Calibre - Spill
|
| |
interesting...if anyone could pull off a cover album, it's Ulver. they rarely if ever fuck up
Digging: John Frusciante - Niandra LaDes and Usually Just a T-Shirt

this should be great. was hoping they didnt trash this plan when they released Roses.
Digging: The National - Trouble Will Find Me

Ulver doesn't always make music but when they do, they make it awesome.
|
| |
Sweeeeeeeeet, love these guys.
Digging: TesseracT - Altered State

The Prince cover was phenomenal. I'm not familiar with any of these songs but will spin them before I listen to this. Ulver is a great band putting out consistent records time after time.
Everyone who has posted that this will suck, band only has two decent albums, they haven't been good since thier black metal days, etc are fucking faggots. FOAD

i decided this will suck but i love their discog
what am i
That doesn't make any sense.
|
| |
i fit the criteria for half a fucking faggot
|
| |
How do you love their discography but think this is gonna suck?
|
| |
because i doubt they will be able to cover 60's psychedelic rock and make it work
|
| |
So Ulver can do black metal, trip-hop, neo-folk and ambient but they can't do 60's psych covers?
|
| |
pretty much what im getting at yeah
|
| |
A lot of bands over the years I deem to be consistent have let me down at some point in the past few years, Ulver isn't one of them. They don't strike me as the type to put out some mediocre, half-assed bullshit.
|
| |
i dont think it will be half-assed at all, but i dont know if they have the right tone/mood/whatever to cover these super easy-going lighthearted songs. if they do, ill be pleasantly surprised no doubt about it
