Comedy rockers Tenacious D have released their upcoming third album, "Rize of the Fenix",
for online streaming. The band's Facebook states:
"To counter the video leak with something extra awesome - listen to the full album here:
The album can be heard on the above website. The video leak in question refers to a Russian
website hosting the video "Rize of the Fenix" before the scheduled release date.
I've heard this is good, but I'll listen for myself a little later.
Digging: Childish Gambino - Because The Internet
I know what I'm doing tomorrow
This album is pretty tight so far. I'm shocked.
Digging: Boards of Canada - Music Has the Right to Children
Digging: Barrow - Though I'm Alone
So I guess they don't know the album leaked then
Digging: Logos - Cold Mission
what are the standout tracks?
flutes and trumpets
another 4.5 from kage and jables.
Digging: Waxahatchee - American Weekend
Album of the millennium.
oh man hollywood jack is epic too
I liked senorita and deth starr but that one is a true standout
no fucking way
awesome so far
Digging: Magnolia Electric Co - Trials and Errors
The heavy riff in Rize of the Fenix is the riff from Megadeth's Public Enemy Number One. Interesting.
But it's the D so it's still instant 5/5.
Digging: David Maxim Micic - Bilo 3.0
i am excite.
Really good album!
Is it the best album in the world?
trebor is idiot
'trebor is idiot'
my only gripe is that roadie, deth star and throwdown are a bit bland. But the rest are really good. Love JB's vocals on 'hollywood...'
They have rizen again
Also does anyone know if they are making a movie for this or not
Just an album as far as I know.
Fenix on the album cover is cock and balls.
The album absolutely slays! The D for life!
Digging: Netherlands - Silicon Vapor
I FUCKING LOVE THIS BAND
this is soooooo good. really glad these guys still kill it
Aside from Tribute theyve never really made anything half way decent so not interested at all
Shut the fuck up.
The Pick Of Destiny didn't do well at the box office so probably not another movie, they'll probably just do crazy music videos and shorts
In all seriousness I didn't really dig this album that much.
To be fair, this is way better then I expected. I really, really enjoyed it.
It doesnt matter if it is good. It only matters if it rocks.
That it does.
Digging: GIVE ME A HAND WITH THIS MACHINE GUN TO IGNITE IT IN YOUR AS - MILITARYGERALD COMMANDS ME TO DO SO I MUST
halfway through, digging everything i'm hearing so far
Digging: Glass Empire - Cognitive Dissonance
It's definitely not bad. I didn't think I would laugh at the skits, but I did, and that was a huge
relief in itself.
The skits were actually really funny. Album is too short though.
Way too short for a 6 year wait
Still fucking awesome though so I'm not too choked about it.
Album is disappointingly short in the same way King of Limbs was
Didnt like KOL at all.
Short but sweet and I strangely haven't heard KOL yet, don't know why
If you like amnesiac/kid a/hail to the thief then listen to it.
Is the best shit
album fucking slays... let me touch your penis
Album is amazing. I like the D, but I am surprised how good this is.
"I like the D"
That's what she said last night.
Nowhere near as good as the first two albums. It's still pretty good though.
Digging: Obliteration - Black Death Horizon
Hollywood Jack is fucking epic.
Never really heard a lot of these guys besides their more popular songs, but this is just amazing.
For me this album isn't nearly as good as the first two. But it's got some good tracks, it seems with songs like 39 and Hollywood Jack that there starting to parody music more than just write awesome songs with ridiculous lyrics. That said 39 is probably my favourite song, I'm laughing just thinking about it. "She needs a dentist appointment quick, I pay for it then she sucka my dick, when we text each other I fiddle with my anus." Words of a poet.
How did I miss this?
I was expecting "They Fucked Our Asses" to build into something ridonkulous, but it fizzled out too soon
