The keyboard always sounded out of place anyway. Dead Throne is solid album though.

Yeah, Dead Throne is their best (other than Zombie) and I have a feeling that they won't replace him. Apparently James left the band to take care of his family, but the way TDWP says it, it sounds like they kicked him out. I mean, they said he was "well-intentioned". They might as well have called him talentless.

I can't really recall too many memorable keyboard moments in their music anyway. If anything, I bet the band will still end up programming key parts in their future music.

Dear Love was their best album.

So many bands are dropping their keyboard players. Four Year Strong are the only others I can think of off the top of my head but keyboardists are in low demand these days.

i bet the song Angel Below by Underoath single handedly forced all the core bands of the 2003/2004/2005/2006s to incorporate keyboards

The only keys that really stuck out from memory were "Dogs Can Grow Beards All Over".

the title of this article is kind of misleading because it's not like they kicked him out, when i read their facebook post this morning it sounded like it was amicable.

and i prefer mike's vocals on plagues tbh.

listening to dead throne though, i felt like the keyboards were kind of shoehorned in. now that they seem to be moving away from the scenecore sound, the keyboards aren't incredibly necessary.

Also, WRAABB is their worst album. And he did add to their sound, I think. It wasn't a big, in your face kind of thing, but like atmosphere stuff in the back. Or maybe I'm thinking of a different band. Haven't listened to them in a while other than a few awful moments of WRAABB to ensure it still sucked.

I like a lot of prada but honestly dead throne bores me. The songs seem to all blend together.
Zombie EP is probably my favorite but I enjoy their older albums if not only for nostalgic reasons.

previous albums and mikes vocals have never grated on me (granted I don't spin prada to the point
where he could begin to grate on me)

regardless i don't think they need a keyboardist, he's used to subtly that his disappearance will
hardly even be noticed.

anyway, will probably always be a prada fan. albums are usually 2.5-3s with the exception of the
zombie EP

To be honest the only thing I liked about Dead Throne was Kansas. Mike's screams on that album pretty much prevent me from even trying to like everything else. They just annoy me for some reason. Lows are good, but not the highs.

I like the screams from WRAABB, Plagues, and Zombie the most; especially Zombie.
And like others said, there were cool keyboard parts in there, but they're hardly necessary.

^ Hey dude I completely agree. They actually had some pretty creepy synths in dead throne but his vocals are just ridiculous. Zombie EP had some great vocals and I prefer his vocals and previous efforts as well! Dead throne is the ONLY album I can't stand his vocals. Errrghhh

joey sturgis writes a lot of the parts and co-writes and produces the rest. nothing will change except this band will probably just get a lot heavier and hopefully experiment more

yeah the synths are pretty creepy sounding in dead throne and it helps the mood in zombie.

Best synths were in Dead Throne, because they weren't over the top obvious, but they blended reeeeaaaally well with the rest of the music.

Love these dudes. Sad to see James go. I hope they don't get a replacement tbqh. I cannot say he did little for the band, cause that's not true at all. But they will be fine without him. As long as they have Chris, Mike and Jeremy they will be good to go.
