that's a really ignorant statement to say the least.

Reference and influence are not the same as being relevant. Would a new album by Refused fit their idealogy with the rapid growth of the global economy since they originally broke up? It doesn't seem like it. We can argue that it's "just about the music", but the intensity and sincerity is what made the band so powerful to begin with.

I agree with AnarchistFish that Refused's ideology is more relevant now amidst the popular outcry against Capitalism, but what I'm not sure about is how to reconcile their reformation with both the immediate fall-out from their break-up and their famously strong anti-Capitalist stance.
When they broke up didn't they demand that any shred of evidence of their existence be destroyed? Their reunion surely contradicts the motives behind that action in a major way.
Also, although I'll probably never truly know why they reformed (maybe they honestly and simply just wanted to play together again) it is a possibility that it is a cash and grab, and this would really contradict their belief that "Capitalism is indeed organised crime and we're all the victims".
Rant aside, I can't wait to see them and At The Drive-In in April.
