For this I am stoked.

|
| |
IS THIS REAL LIFE?!
|
| |
Hope it's better than those collabs...
|
| |
New Burial is good.
|
| |

super excited about this though
|
| |
awesome news!!!
|
| |
Sweet.
|
| |
I'll update this article as soon as more info becomes available (which from the sound of things could be any minute or in a few hours)
Bad news is I'm off to bed soon
|

Eh. It was worth a shot.

Interesting phrasing. He had an EP in March. Why is this some sort of triumphant return?
|
| |
sounds interesting.

Who said anything about triumphant? He put out material, and now he has returned with more
|
| |
Well, this is good!
|
| |
He should listen to Korn and take notes. That's dubstep done right.
|
| |
Well Korn WAS the first dubstep artist, not surprising that they do it the best.
|
| |
Yes! Would be much better news if it was an LP but I'll take what I can get.
|
| |
yeeeeeeeeeeees
|
| |
fap
|
| |
okay
|
| |
is this gonna make the end of 2011?
|
| |
will check out, as well as his debut and street halo
|
| |
Stoked as FUCK
|
| |
what exactly is the strict definition of dubstep? as in, if there was an electronic music dictionary, what would be written under it
|
| |
type it in google
|
| |
Ask Korn
|
| |
"type it in google"
"Its overall sound has been described as "tightly coiled productions with overwhelming bass lines and reverberant drum patterns, clipped samples, and occasional vocals"."
that doesn't tell me much when I hear stuff that some people say is dubstep and some say is house
|
| |
Yes!!
|
| |
NIIIICE.
@ Anarchist, it's generally at 140 BPM with a half-step drum patter, usually with kick on the first beat and snare on the 3rd. Has deep and prominent sub-bass, is spacious and often dark. A lot of times has a drop but not always...
It's evolved so much by now it's hard to pin it down, but that's what the basic original sound was about.
|
| |
cool thanks
|
| |
@tmobotron: probably the best explanation i've read.
|
| |
Here's the simple answer: dubbed out garage beats
|
| |
^ second best explanation i've heard. i've heard two explanations.
|
| |
Still waiting on more info for this. In the meantime:

"Here's the simple answer: dubbed out garage beats"
In electronic-noob terms though
|
| |
Aren't you English?
|
| |
I am very keen for this, street halo was fantastic, and I don't give a shit what the definition of dubstep is.
|
| |
Is Burial dubstep? all of my elitist friends tell me it's chillout or something.
|
| |
Smugness normally goes hand in hand with single-mindedness
Yes, Burial is dubstep
|
| |
excited
|
| |
Great! I recently got into Dubstep and I find Burial two LPs awesome.
|
| |
I hope this is at least 25-27 mins in length ...
|
| |
Cool vid dev, had a nice untrue-ish feel to the visuals. That's just some unofficial vid some rando threw together isn't it?
|
| |
Not entirely sure, I think it might have been an unofficial vid that's just gotten the approval of the label
|
| |
Cool, definitely some nice work put into it.
|
| |
Happy for anything, but I hope new LP will come out soon too.
|
| |
New LP would be better, but this should still be awesome.
|
| |
"Aren't you English?"
I know very little about dub and garage though, so it means nothing to me
|
| |
bonerism 1000%
|
| |
awesome
|
| |
I know very little about dub and garage though, so it means nothing to me
I thought Garage ran in the blood of every englishman though ?
Put garage: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YTLKULU1uzY
and dub: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6IcnrIa0xCo together and you get dubstep: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9-4Cq1kW1Rk
|
| |
I'm only half english though :s
I don't even know how big garage is here. but then again, I never paid attention to electronic music til I joined this site, and even then I don't listen to much
|
| |
so where did the bass bit come in?
|
| |
Dub, it's one of the genre's predominant themes. Obviously it's been modified a a tad, but dubstep takes that always present bass that threatens to overthrow the tracks and applied to half-step garage beats.
Here's perhaps a better example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aVpjPuzlvus
Hear that throbbing bass? It might sound incredibly simple, but that comes from dub. Plus the whole ragga atmosphere as well
|
| |
everything I know about electonic music I learned from Dev
well and Jonathan Davis
|
| |
burial is some of the best dubstep out there
|
| |
Unless there's a track featuring Swarms, my boner is still only a semi.
Need some more Swarms.
|
| |
More than likely a hoax, but interesting none the less

I like this guy. And his music is very emotive
|
| |
February 4th is too far away.
