painfully average
|
| |
I didn't like it very much.
|
| |
average Coldplay is average. so far the songs from this album are simple and cheesy. where are the days of a rush of blood to the head ???
|
| |
pretty good song
|
| |
to think that they wrote The Scientist
|
| |
Their songs sound all the same. So bland
|
| |
aww man, when i glanced through the news i thought it said coldplay call it quits:/
|
| |
Horrible, i dare to say even worse than the first single. And to think I once was hoping another Viva La Vida . . .
|
| |
i cant listen to this right now, can someone tell me if it's any better than Every Teardrop is a Waterfall? cause I didn't like that song at all. Viva la Vida is one of my favourite albums but the combination of the new album's dreadful title/artwork and the extended play they released leads me to believe that this will be one of my all-time biggest disappointments
|
| |
can someone tell me if it's any better than Every Teardrop is a Waterfall
It's worse
|
| |
I digz it.
@insomniac15 gone, thankfully.
|
| |
It's worse
fuck.
good thing I saw them live already then cause I dont wanna pay to see them play shit from this (likely) mediocre album.
|
| |
Sad thing is, because this is Coldplay, this album will be considered a masterpiece...
Sigh.
|
| |
good thing I saw them live already then cause I dont wanna pay to see them play shit from this (likely) mediocre album.
Did you like them? Cause I saw them live a few months ago and they sounded like a machine... Lifeless.
|
| |
These guys are one of those bands that lots of folks seem to like and that I can never ever seem to get into.
|
| |
Fuck. Major Minus from the EP gave me some hope. But this is just horrible. Teardrop at least hat some cheesy energy. This is just boring.
|
| |
"Their songs sound all the same. So bland"
go listen to "yes," then "spies," then "strawberry swing" and tell me they sound even remotely alike.
|
| |
song is excellent
|
| |
"go listen to "yes," then "spies," then "strawberry swing" and tell me they sound even remotely alike."
There still all bland though...
|
| |
can someone tell me if it's any better than Every Teardrop is a Waterfall
It's worse
disagreeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
|
| |
I liked it. It may have been a little too long, but I've got a soft spot for Coldplay. I havent really disliked anything they've done.
|
| |
won't listen cuz i wanna hear the new album as an almost completely new product (save the first single) when it comes out. but the responses so far trouble me.
|
| |
and also, if wikipedia's right (a somewhat big "if"), rihanna is guesting on that princess of china song. love the way you lie was one of recovery's worst songs as was all of the lights on mbdtf. she's gotta just gtfo and stop ruining songs.
|
| |
There still all bland though...
If you think all their songs sound the same i can only assume your ears are for purely decorative
purposes.
|
| |
Fine, they may not all sound the same. And im only going by what I hear of them on the radio, which is sadly every damn day.
Yet.....The ones iv heard are still bland.
|
| |
It's painfully poppy.
with that said, I actually really like it. It's shamelessly and stupidly catchy. I got to respect that.
|
| |
dude it's cool if you don't like probably the world's best pop band
yr loss man
|
| |
i like it, it's a bit too repetitive though
|
| |
cololololdplay
|
| |
Does it rip off any songs like ETIAW ripped off Dynamite? I can't listen atm.
|
| |
not terrible
|
| |
Did you like them? Cause I saw them live a few months ago and they sounded like a machine... Lifeless.
yeah they were fucking incredible. one of the best concerts I've ever seen, I dunno what their deal was when you saw them cause they're apparently a legendary live band
|
| |
Got to agree with Aids, Their live show brings out the gay pride in everyone.
Just wait until the bridge of fix you..
|
| |
You guys are exaggerating. This isn't nearly as bad I expected. This is actually pretty good and definitely better than
"Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall".
However, it could just be the fact that I'm on vicodin...
|
| |
Just wait until the bridge of fix you..
I seriously wept like a little girl when they played that. Also during Death And All His Friends. God what a magical night. they did a cover of Billie Jean (cause it was right after MJ died) and Pokerface (cause Lady Gaga was playing the other stage at the same time and Chris Martin felt bad for people who had to make a tough choice haha).
|
| |
its like they set out to make a gay song from the start!
|
| |
Sounds like Keane performing a Coldplay medley in the style of Empire of the Sun... how can a track made up of that much blandness still end up sounding pretty alright? Respect
|
| |
This rapes so much face.
|
| |
Coldplay live was one of the best nights of my life.
This song is fucking great.
|
| |
knott radiohead is the world's best pop band.
|
| |
radiohead
pop
|
| |
thom yorke says they are the pop and he's the lead singer in the best pop band on earth...it's hard to argue with logic that sound.
|
| |
radiohead isn't pop by any stretch of the imagination. coldplay i suppose i would consider pop but they aren't strictly a "pop" band I'd call them alt-rock, or something.
actually yeah i guess they're pop-rock so yeah pop works, carry on.
|
| |
band rules hard live
AROBTTH and Parachutes are both excellent albums
|
| |
Decent song.
|
| |
Knott I don't think Coldplay would be considered pop any more than radiohead would.
Song wasn't that great.
"Fix You" makes me hold this band to a higher standard.
|
| |
Viva la Vida >>> A Rush of Blood To The Head > Parachutes >>> X & Y
(just cause you all wanted to know my ranking so badly)
|
| |
for me, this single is not as catchy or memorable as most of their other hits
|
| |
Song is really good, and a hell of a lot better than Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall.
|
| |
I'm just...not excited anymore for this
|
| |
They're definitely continuing our their poppier path, but musically I'd say this is better than "Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall". Equally as catchy, but more repetitive.
I like
|
| |
parachutes was their best album, they haven't come close since.
|
| |
Viva.
|
| |
I heard a song by Coldplay on the radio the other day that I'd never heard before, and I can't figure out what song it is. It was fantastic too.
|
| |
Fix You possibly?
|
| |
No, I'm familiar with most of their stuff (especially Fix You, Clocks, The Scientist)....
|
| |
Probably Every Teardrop Is a Waterfall.
|
| |
"Possibly Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall"
No, that can't be it, he said it was fantastic.
|
| |
Aw.
|
| |
Ah, I figured it out. It was Trouble from their first album.
|
| |
I thought they had said they wanted to record the album in a church, make it more acoustic and get closer to their fans?
|
| |
Nope, they recorded it in the land of milk and honey with prancing unicorns and dancing leprechauns,
|
| |
that's what i thought too almonds
|
| |
They recorded Viva La Vida in a church.
|
| |
not all of it
just parts of it
mostly Lost!
|
| |
While I did sort of secretly want Viva la Vida pt. 2, I quite like the direction they're taking with Mylo Xyoto
|
| |
I miss Parachutes. So much.
|
| |
Song is way too glossy and shiny. Not for me.
|
| |
Viva la Vida >>> A Rush of Blood To The Head > Parachutes >>> X & Y
100% correct
|
| |
intro was interesting, rest was average. don't like his voice in this one either
|
| |
and yeah its too shiny, i like coldplay better when they're soft
|
| |
Chorus is so weak. Lyrics are horrible once again. Mediocre and bland. Sorry Coldplay I expect you to do much better after releasing monster Tracks like Violett Hill and Death and all of his Friends on the last LP.
|
| |
I really dig this. I'm not even going to TOUCH the nine mile battle-zone of insults and putdowns and hipsters that you have to wade into anytime you dare praise a Coldplay album here. I love this band, I have since I first heard Yellow on VH1 about ten years ago (when they still actually played music videos), and I loved them as they grew and evolved. This sounds like the natural progression from where they were going before. Kind of a bit of Paul Simon worldbeat feeling in the way Chris Martin sings the song towards the bridge and finish. The whole thing was just flat out nice and fun to hear. I like this, and I hope this is a sign that their next album is going to be another moderately spectacular album of the same high standard that their previous albums have been, because I'm all for it.
And cue the Coldplay haters to tell me how I'm wrong and I suck and Coldplay sucks and what REALLY sucks is being wrong and sucking and liking Coldplay all at the same time, right? Right? Yeah, I don't know what I'm talking about anymore either.

Rosa Parks you have the best avatar ever
|
| |
can't wait for the studio version of charlie brown
|
| |
Yea, Charlie Brown seemed like a great song when they played it live.
|
| |
I was more than ready to jump on the hate wagon but this is a pretty solid song... I really dislike the first single too.
|
| |
