Sounds like TDWP
| |
Sounds good so far
| |
They did damn good on this
| |
Damn, Chris's yells sound awesome and Jeremy's singing is SO much better, I can't even believe it.
| |
It's so effing good. And they are doing a headlining tour with Whitechapel, Enter Shikari, and For Today. I am one very happy guy right now
| |
I dig.
| |
Time to see what all the fuss is about...
| |
Do any of you know which song has the featuring? I remember Mike mentioning it in an interview....
| |
Hmm...
| |
it's Constance that has the guest vocals. at the very end.
also, album slays.
| |
It's Tim Lambesis! Right on.
| |
Deleting my comment? Fuck da mods.
Album is truly awful because of Hranica.
| |
I KNEW THAT VOICE SOUNDED FAMILIAR!! Tim slays
| |
I'm so happy right now. They finally pulled off the album I've always wanted them to make. These songs have variation,
more interesting riffs, the lyrics are better, Jeremy's singing is better, Chris's yells add a new dynamic, etc.
It's just exactly what I had hoped they would do.
| |
Tom, I couldn't agree with you more. I haven't been this proud of a band in a while.
| |
The vocals are amazing, definitely one of the best in metalcore. I wish the music was a tidbit more interesting, it seems like some riffs are repeated, but overall, the record's pretty cool.
| |
Yeah, I want to go pat them on the back.
| |
WE'VE PUT THE WORLD ON A DEAD THRONE
| |
so amazing to see potential finaly being realized, first the chariot, now TDWP lets hope more bands follow suit.
| |
Sounds awesome, although every TDWP album I listen to I feel like I am listening to the same exact song over and over, and I still feel that way with this. Probably a 4 for me.
| |
DreamAgain I sort of agree with you, but it makes the album one you can listen to from beginning to end. It's like one giant, awesome song of great riffs, unique screams, subtle but sexy synths, very solid drumming, and the guest spot of Tim Lambesis is the icing on the cake.
| |
not bad... and i heard that jeremy mkinnon was featured as well...
| |
can't tell if you are all trolling me hmmm
| |
on phone so cant listen.
probably sucks.
| |
just started it
| |
jeremy just helped with vocal production, he isn't actually on the album.
| |
hate the vocals
| |
holy balls this is good
| |
haters gonna hate.
i'm sorry though, i'm just such a fanboy for this album right now. i was so stoked for it, and somehow it's better than i thought it was going to be.
| |
ok im realy digging chicago right now, song is fucking epic.
| |
The guitar tone on this album is crushing
| |
Im only on Mammoth so far and it's my favorite as of now...if it really is the worst on the album then these next 10 songs most be insane
| |
I love Jeremys cleans on Vengeance
| |
mammoth is easily my least favorite. every thing else is just so much more interesting and well made than that song.
| |
Mammoth I think has the lowest guitar tuning, it's in Drop A#. Heavy as balls
| |
Yeah i just love the yells/how heavy Mammoth sounds...now im on RIT and of course that's my favorite so far now hahah
| |
Yeah, Mammoth is the worst song for sure and it's not even bad. And good God, Tim's guest vocals rule on the end of
Constance. This album is just blowing my mind. I couldn't be more stoked. I'm glad this didn't let me down like the new
ABR album.
| |
r.i.t. is so fucking good.
but i'm digging the title track so hard. and vengeance. and constance. and holdfast. and just... everything. it's so good.
| |
the vocals really bug me but the music itself is tight as fuck
| |
youre all idiots
| |
Kansas is a fantastic instrumental holy shit
| |
I was always a tdwp fan so vocals dont really bother me at all lol...and honestly, my highest rated albums for them are plagues and zombie ep (4/5 for both) hahah so im already biased when it comes to tdwp.
| |
no but seriously hranica is fucking awful lol
| |
^ lol
| |
@UhhKris yeah I mean I don't like what he's doing with his voice nowadays because it's pretty obvious via live shows that he can scream differently...
I like his vocals best in Plagues, which everyone seems to hate..so w/e haha
| |
It's better than their other stuff, but it still sucks. The riffs aren't any more interesting, and they're staying comfortably in their generic metalcore boundaries. And the lyrics probably still suck, too.
| |
wtf i was not expecting this to be that cool but its actually pretty solid
| |
i prefer when they made scene music
| |
a 3.5 at best
| |
the guest vocals at the end of Constance just sound so fucking evil hahah, I had to laugh when I first heard it...appreciatory laugh tho of course
| |
@Rosa
He definitely ruins any hopes the album had.
| |
Electronic breakdown in Pretenders sounded pretty sick haha...someone review this, so I can spam another thread..GO!
| |
lol this band
| |
The day sputnik LOVED The Devil Wears Prada.
| |
I can understand why people don't like Hranica's screams, but I love them.
And, fromtheinside, you're getting too excited. I don't think this is a metalcore "classic" but it is certainly the best
metalcore release so far this year, in my opinion.
"The day sputnik LOVED The Devil Wears Prada."
don't worry, much opposition will arise, I'm sure. a lot of sputnik users love to hate on this band (even though, I really
don't think this band is deserving of hate anymore.) At least TDWP now has 2 indisputably "decent" (at worst) releases
under their belt.
| |
this is amazing.
| |
Hranica's vocals were the best on With Roots Above. Jeremy actually outdoes him on Dead Throne suprisingly.
| |
Pretty sure fromtheinside is trolling hahah, he also rated What Seperates Me From You a 5
| |
will listen
and review maybe
i say that a lot though and never follow up
| |
Pretty sure fromtheinside is trolling hahah, he also rated What Seperates Me From You a 5
yeah, except that album actually sucks and this does not. anyone who cannot acknowledge that this blows every ADTR release out of the water is a fucking moron.
| |
I dont know, I thought his vocals were at their worst on Plagues then he got really good for with Roots Above and Zombie and hes still good here but his vocals don't exactly have the punch that the other releases had. Maybe after repeated listens i'll think differently.
| |
Gonna review this.
| |
Mikes vocals are annoying, rest is pretty good
| |
this is okay so far
| |
Gonna be my first review. Hopefully it doesn't suck THAT much. I wish I had more time. Now that it's officially streaming I might have to rush it a bit.
| |
that might be a little overzealous of me to say
| |
Gunna hed by teh Hot Topic and pik dis wun up hurr hurr
| |
@Bass I thought his vocals were the most entertaining on Plagues, the most mundane/plain on Roots, and really different on Zombie/this. On Zombie and this its like he tries to make his highs as shrill and annoying as possible, and his lows as undecipherable and bloated..idk
| |
Yeah his lows on this arent nearly as good as they could be.
| |
I like his new vocal style a lot better than what he had going on before.
| |
tdwp is touring with whitechapel? that's pretty ironic.
| |
"that might be a little overzealous of me to say"
that this is "okay"? You gave Oh, Sleeper's last album a 2.5, so this has to at least be a 3. And I thoroughly enjoy that Oh, Sleeper album, but this is undoubtedly better.
| |
Mike's vocals are something you have to get use to. I just love how he's unique compared to most.
@fromtheinside, I agree with the close to a metalcore classic comment, trolling or not. Atleast when
it comes to the Rise/Ferret etc labeled metalcore bands.
| |
@bass and taxi I honestly like his vocals in songs like HTML the most.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1XUeiYieYK4 (in case its been a while haha)
| |
@taxidermist, THANK YOU for saying that. His old screams were typical and annoying, especially on
their first album. He has evolved into his own style, and for some reason I just freaking love it!
| |
I gave that album a 2.5 two years ago... it's about a 2 now. This is without question better than Oh, Sleeper's last album and also much better than ABR's latest. I'm not sure what the rating will be though...
| |
they were saying this wouldn't be as heavy as zombie? it's pretty fucking heavy. and just awesome overall.
| |
Hranica's vocals sound the best they've had here. In fact, they sound good sometimes on this album too!
| |
I think they ssaid it'd be a lot heavier than Zombie.
| |
I don't like the harsh yappy vocals, but the rest seems pretty decent.
| |
@DeathByDaydream I don't think they ever said that? I think i heard in an interview that Mike thought this album in some parts would easily blow Zombie out of the water..(i think those were his exact words haha)
| |
The shitty thing is that a lot of people on this site aren't even going to give this a chance, when it deserves that at the very least.
| |
definitely better than leveler, but maybe not constellations.
| |
This really deserves a chance. Anyone expecting the OLD TDWP is going to shit themselves.
| |
i thought i saw in an interview they were "focusing more on creative expression than brute force" or something like that.
| |
Fuck you guys I really like Mammoth... and @Death I think this is the interview I was talking about http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=brM7ChBPeBo
| |
Changed this from a 4.5 to a 5. Read my soundoff if anyone is wondering why.
| |
Mammoth is better when listened to with the rest of the album.
| |
Mammoth gets too much hate it has a great chorus and heavy-as-fuck riffs and breakdowns
| |
^ok you win haha.
also, everyone can say what they want about roots, but plagues is still a good album. not as good as this though.
| |
It definitely deserves a chance, if only because they've improved so much. But...
(also, constance is the best track)
| |
Ive liked Mammoth since the first time I heard it haha. So far my favorites are Constance and Forever Decay.
| |
shitty band
| |
absolutely in love with this
| |
how does a TDWP stream have way more comments than unreleased NMH tracks?!
| |
BeCaUsE HTML R00LZ D00D.
| |
average band releases average record
surprise surprise
| |
I really am loving Kansas.
| |
glitchy vocals in pretenders made me lol
| |
I guess I'm the only one who thinks they still suck just as much ass as they did 4 years ago.
Dear Love was the only album worth giving a shit.
| |
This album is really good.
| |
^^^ @RP
yeah but you had the word alive at a 5 until you decided youd change your ratings so people would like you or something.
| |
Rosa, your mother. Have a problem with BTBAM? They fucking own, unlike this shit.
| |
average band releases average record
surprise surprise
this so hard
| |
@ RosaParks - Forgot to mention your opinion doesn't count. You gave Foxy Shazam a 5.
| |
Jeremy sounds really good. Hranica really doesn't. this is okay.
| |
Posted my review. Kinda short I think, but give me some pointers or something guys.
| |
@TechieCore, if you think Dear Love is better than this...................well, ya i'm speechless lol
| |
"Jeremy sounds really good. Hranica really doesn't. this is okay."
Exactly my thoughts. Mike is extremely overrated and his screams seem too whiny. Jeremy sounds pretty damn good though.
| |
no reply i see rosa
| |
This is ridiculous!
| |
@ Rosa - Dude I knew the dudes in Foxy, I live in Cincinnati. Bunch of no good pricks who think highly of themselves but write shitty music. TDWP is from Dayton, see a trend here bud?
I'm sorry you don't like BTBAM, what a fucking waste.
| |
I had to double-check, he really did say BTBAM sucks. What a fucking idiot.
| |
This is amazing. Especially considering all their other stuff is pretty average.
| |
I dig the FUCK out of that second song oh my god
| |
@Techie stop being an asshole man. BTBAM is a love or hate band. Rosa isn't a "fucking idiot", that's
very unnecessary.
| |
This is their best work, for sure. Everything has improved except for Mike's vocals.
While they have indeed tightened up, this is still pretty weak. Like I said, Mike's vocals have gotten worse, and are annoying. It sounds like he could lose his voice at any moment. They are still stuck on goddamn chugging breakdowns. I'm not opposed to breakdowns, but it's still being overdone in this album (even if it has cut down some).
These guys are improving from a horrible band to a more average band, not an amazing one.
2.7-3ish
| |
my review is up as well, its pretty rushed and shitty, but i'll prolly edit it in the near future so check it out
| |
I think screaming isn't something anyone can really strongly rate on a critical level, it's all about opinion. But that's why I love screaming, there's so many ways to do it.
| |
BTBAM IS NOT A FUCKING "WANK FEST"
| |
BTBAM is pure win.
| |
Looks like they dropped those long nonsense song titles like "reptar, king of the ozone"
Anyways my favorite full length by them was dear love. Shoot me
| |
"BTBAM is pure win."
speaking of bad screaming...
anyway, as annoying as Hranica is, this is enjoyable. not impressive, really, but solid imo.
| |
@Pharoh, *bang*
| |
The vocals are amazing, definitely one of the best in metalcore.
Ahahaha fuck no. Album is quite enjoyable aside from Mike's trash vocals, Jeremy's cleans have always been something I've enjoyed so it's nice to see him getting better. Kansas is probly my favorite song due to the lack of vocals and great melodies.
| |
some things are too stupid to reply to
stupid or completely true?
| |
A stream ehh? Nice.
| |
I hate people who don't have their own fucking music taste and just like certain shit just to fit in here.
I can't decide on a favorite for this album. All of it is just so good..
| |
Untidaled is a great song
| |
God wears gucci
| |
Lol at all the BTBAM love. Silent Circus and Parallax are good, that's about it. Colors and Misdirect are just pretentious, incoherent piles of shit, no matter how "technical" they may be.
| |
Jesus wears Toms....................
| |
I like the new album it's different from the old ones.
| |
TGM is a wankfest. I think Colors is amazing though. Also I think this is probably equal with Leveler. It is different but not necessarily better imo. Also Mike's vocals are at their worst. Jeremy slays though.
| |
The whole band slays on this album. And it's better than Leveler because this was a surprising, fun release. Leveler was very disappointing and boring.
| |
ahahah rosa dont front u were fellating the word alive like a little bitch before the nigga xplisit learned u things
| |
I gave that album a 2.5 two years ago... it's about a 2 now. This is without question better than Oh, Sleeper's last album and also much better than ABR's latest. I'm not sure what the rating will be though...
Oh okay, I misunderstood what you were saying then. And I agree with you on for now on Constance being the best track. Lambesis's guest vocals really add to the end of the song.
| |
hey guys someone should review this album
| |
So I gave it my first listen and I'm quite impressed. This is some good stuff.
| |
this doesnt seem that much different then there other stuff
| |
wow, a Prada album I can actually dig. And yeah, Lambesis' guest vocals rule
| |
The yells on Born to Lose sound like Oli to me.
And Leveler was a huge grower. I wasn't a huge fan but love it now. Also this wasn't a surprise for those that liked TDWP. I've liked their material since plagues. They continue to improve. Zombie slayed
| |
Album is great!
| |
I liked the first song pretty good and the second song was okay so far. This sounds like it will be better than anything else they've done.
| |
this is really hyped.
I bet it won't live up to the hype.
| |
I can't believe they improved as much as everyone says.
lol double post.
| |
Yeah not gonna like Hranica kills this for me.
| |
spoiler alert: it fucking rules
lol
| |
good one icaught, you fucking idiot
| |
So why is the 1992 in your name?
O WAI-
| |
your a smart one lmfao
| |
1992 is for his IQ obviously
| |
rofl you know it dude
| |
what the f**k i cant post emoticons
| |
no you f**king can't, you prick
| |
Okay but seriously,
Did you catch fire on the year 1992 or 1992 times?
Because the second one is by far more impressive. If I recall correctly, 1992 was a rather conflagrant year.
| |
lol it's just the name of my favorite song by the used and the year i was born
sry to dissapoint hahaha
| |
Holy shit yes. Listening now.
| |
yah i bet thats what it is
| |
It's pretty good, but not as good as what i've heard on Zombie. There are some quite awful songs here, i'm thinking of Forever Decay and Mammoth especially, and really nothing outstanding. The breakdowns lack punch and groove, and some riffs are just plain Emmure-binary like.
Doesn't come near Memphis May Fire's last album for this year, as far as generic metalcore is concerned. Both vocalists being a lot better than Mike and Jeremy.
| |
ooh can't wait to hear this
| |
I still can't believe how good it actually is
| |
i wish he would just do the deep vocals more. his highs are annoying.
| |
mind is officially blown. Album is epic.
| |
What the hell is this? I had completely written this band off. I guess they finally found a decent producer? Something is different because this sounds great. I'm surprised.
| |
Not bad.
| |
why is everyone riding these guys dicks suddenly?
| |
I don't know. This is probably a 3.5 for me, not sure why everyone is saying it's so great.
| |
Its a judicious 3. And that's being nice. That being said, it shits on everything else they've ever done.
| |
I've never been a big fan of Hranica's screaming to begin with but this is def a step in the right direction for these guys, imo alot better than their older stuff. also, Lambesis' guest is awesome
| |
Album slays.
| |
yeah it's not bad.
| |
i will never understand the love for this band
| |
Love the artwork, Constance sounds amazing.
| |
I'm not really getting how everyone is jizzing over this. So what if this is an improvement, it's still average and has been done better by plenty of other bands already.
| |
you've been done better by plenty of bands already
anyways
this rules.
| |
I HATE THIS PERSISTENCE. MY EYES MAY NEVER CLOSE!
Still loving Constance like a fat kid loves twinkies
| |
Holdfast is incredible.
| |
Holdfast is fucking incredible.
| |
thank you Iamthe Nightstars
| |
fuck this faggotry
| |
it's mad good
| |
Hype
| |
This is much better than I expected
| |
this surprised me. pretty solid album it seems. though Mike's high screams seem really weak. pretty much other than those kinda grating highs, the band seems to have really stepped up
| |
decent metalcore for the gym, nothing else
| |
converge is the best gym metalcore ever
| |
^fucking truth
| |
agreed
| |
no im super buff now actually
| |
right when i thought metalcore was dead, this happens. 4.5
| |
Meh I enjoy...Zombies is better
| |
Sputnik kids think that any metalcore/post-hardcore that slightly deviates from JUNJUNJUNcore with whiny vocals is just avant-garde genius. Why?
This isn't bad. Just The Ghost Inside-core I've heard a bunch of times before in equally "meh" bands like Counterparts or Hundredth.
| |
This was indeed surprising, and Lambesis' guest spot did own..
| |
Design the Skyline's Neveah is better
trollface.jpg
Kansas and Holdfast are great
| |
Any progressive band is better than this shit. I'll list 10. Vildhjarta, Volumes, Structures, Born of Osiris, TesseracT, The Contortionist, Elitist, Fellsilent, Encircle, Cloudkicker. Mission accomplished.
| |
