I'm in the minority who thinks that The Dead Weather is Jack White's best band, so this isn't the WORST loss ever imo. Although, i honestly think that if he wanted to give up a musical project, he shouldve ended The Raconteurs instead.

Icky Thump was one of the best albums of 2000s for me. So yeah, this sucks so much.

never liked them too much but this is still pretty lame. they're a band that became huge and successful without changing their sound for the mainstream or selling out their values, you can't say that about too many bands in today's day and age. atleast they made the right decision to call it quits before their music started goin to shit

I heard about this on the train this morning when my friend was checking facebook on his phone. Sucks a bit. I think Sleigh Bells will become the new White Stripes.

I thought this happened years ago. No great loss. They had a few good songs a long, long time ago and have to be one of the worst live acts of the last decade.

Band was okay nothing that great though.

bummer.... I love their studio stuff. Jack is very creative but his live singing is terrible. They still manage to put a boatload of energy into their shows though which makes them somewhat enjoyable.
