Polish composer Gorecki dies

Polish composer Henryk Mikolaj Gorecki has died at the age of 76 following a long illness.

Gorecki is best known for his Third Symphony, or Symphony of Sorrowful Songs, which explored the themes of World War Two and the Holocaust.

Wow, RIP. Yeah Symphony No.3 was incredible. Anyone who hasn't heard that should go listen to it. I'll try to give it a listen today for him. This is sad news.

after Ligeti in 2006, this is a huge loss. there just aren't very many great composers left, at least in the classical sense. sad day, RIP.
